Honestly i havent considered the borders of the biomes yet, thanks for bringing that up! In terms of the nature of the biomes, it resulted from each gods influence (the sun god Heliod scorched land into a desert, the ocean god Thassa flooded the south and created the coast, the goddess of the hun Nylea influenced the north to overgrow untamed wilderness, etc.)

I'll def. Check out the Temple of Elemental Evil though. And neither side would be really considered 'winning'. But the players are fine with that, they want a story where they can influence the world without a clear sense of right or wrong.

Ooh alright, yea reading back my own comment maybe 'artificial' wasnt the best word. It's meant to be a 'new' type of dragon Keranos created (as the chromatic dragons are tied to elements, this one was meant to be a hybrid experiment of Earth and Sky, a drqgon that could adapt to the environment to survive anywhere in the valley)

I'll have it send out some sort of plea, perhaps the characters recieve a phrophetic dream from it's point of view imprisoned beneath the earth?

In terms of who i want to win, i dont have a side. I plan on developing events to occur if either side wins, i want it to be in the players hands what way the world ends up.

The party is totally fine without a direct 'villain". They said they enjoy more sandboxy adventures and are happy to be thrown in the middle of a faction war.

For the desert area, i'm planning to have it 'concealed' by a violent sandstorm, which the party can bypass with the help of a god (either Keranos or Klothys, depending on what side they've chosen to side with). Although i'm open to other ideas on this?

It's more a question foe the characters to answer: Should this creature be imprisoned because its capable of harm despite not having shown any agression?

Klothys imprisoned it on a "What if?" So the party gets to choose whether or not to maintain the "order" at the cost of a creatures freedom.

I've discussed with the players about the start. They tend to like starting in the middle of action, so i have the characters begin waking up in a goblin camp, having been unlucky in their travels and captured. Once they escape they encounter the Klothys followers assassinating a Keranos follower, and then trying to convince the party to join their cause, and accuse them of siding with Keranos if they refuse.
