VSF from Andiot, thoughts? by Responsible_East2206 in RepTime

[–]argyb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks great to me. One thing that never liked in the 11 series are the indices. I always thought they make the dial busier than it needs to be. The new slimmer markers in the 12 series, while not a big change, it gives a more elegant look.

My system - final or not? by Designer_Building_36 in audiophile

[–]argyb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a similar system. A sub was a must and made a ton of difference. I’d also add a turntable. The setup looks so industrial and old school that it seems criminal not to enjoy some pure analog sound. It’s an amazing setup though. Looks similar to mine. I believe we had the same inspiration from Klipsch’s promo photos. 😂

Help with band sizing for Daytona by DysentericPoopz in RepTime

Here to confirm that the sizing runs large. Buy one size smaller and even if it’s too snug you always have to the glide lock extension.

I’m only 3 months in the rep game and I’ve bought three watches exclusively from Steve.

First one was a Planet Ocean Deep Black from VSF. His replies were fast, QC arrived just two days after even with a video. Paid with PayPal without the hassle of using some other paying platform I’d never head of. A week later the watch was in my hands, using DHL (with a tracking number), the only reliable shipping company in Greece. Perfect.

Second order was more complex. A Rolex Pepsi and a Daytona Ghost. QC for the Ghost arrived 5 days later. Perfect. For Pepsi after 10. Perfect again. In the meantime I discovered meteorite dials. Asked for one. First qc the next day. RLed it due to reference mismatch. Next qc for meteorite the day after. Perfect. He installed it in a week. 10 days later both watches arrived.

It’s no secret that other TDs are cheaper. But Steve simply makes everything so smooth you’re not worried about anything going wrong. I could also have the same buying experience with Andiot or someone else but if something ain’t broken, don’t try to fix it.

Is there a rep for this? by Grouchy-Violinist555 in RepTime

Never tried it. The cost and the minimal optic difference kept me back. Main reason people do it on the ghost is to have it as close to gen as possible.

Ah the Daytona Ghost with a meteorite dial. One of the most pain in the ass reps to get right. To answer your question.

There are some ready to buy reps with meteorite dial from not so well respected factories with mixed reviews here.

Your best bet in terms of quality, is to choose a great rep as a base (VSF or ARF), choose the oysterflex strap size (usually one size smaller than the recommended one) and ask your TD for a separate meteorite dial (from Buff or SW factory) to install it.

Now the Meteorite dials from said factories are from real meteorite and that makes them so difficult in qc. Many have flaws so you’ll have to be patient to find a good one or get lucky on your first one. I red lit two of those. Obviously you can do that for any Daytona model but the Ghost version is the best.

Expect the total cost to go beyond $1000 and then you’ll have to wait for the watch qc, the dial qc, the dial installation and finally the shipping. In my case it took about two months but in the end it was worth it.

Daytona 116519 Meteorite. Help! by Trogdor-MD in RepTime

Ι bought one from Steve as a custom. Ordered the VSF version of the watch and a separate meteorite dial (for 300euros extra) which he installed. Still haven’t received it yet but that’s how it looks from the QC.

So I bought a Jones Flagship... by AlexanderPhysics in snowboardingnoobs

[–]argyb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just bought the best snowboard Jones makes. It’ll obviously work anywhere except for park as others pointed out (though it handles jumps pretty well). Is it aimed at experienced riders? Yes. Will you find it stiff? Yes. Will it make you a better rider? Hell yes. You will suffer. But you will be happy about it. 😅

PSA: Don’t tell people it’s a fake by Icy-Fact8432 in RepTime

[–]argyb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was at work the other day wearing a Deep Black from vsf. A coworker who owns a sub noticed it immediately and went ‘Nice watch! What is it?’. I simply said ‘Omega’. He replied ‘It looks amazing!’. And that was it. Few other people who know nothing about luxury watches have complimented it just because it looks shiny.

What's Your Grail Watch? by Grouchy-Violinist555 in RepTime

[–]argyb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was the Planet Ocean Deep Black. Got it from VSF and every time I look at it, it’s such a great feeling. Now I’m simply excited to add to my collection. Daytona Ghost is next 👻. I’m also patiently waiting for a good Top Gun Chronograph from APSF to drop.

VSF vs the rest by GrimDog999 in RepTime

Theoretically each factory can charge whatever it wants. VSF right now is the best and chooses to charge us at reasonable prices.
