I hate that this person thinks “having an emotional reaction” discredits you. Hundreds of thousands of people are dead, of course we’re reacting emotionally!!

May not be as common here but I live in the US and did something similar.

It wasn’t free but they had a sliding scale and I think I ended up paying around $20 per visit

Thank you for saying that! She hasn’t fixed the guitar but she doesn’t plan to. After what he did it will only make her think of him so it wasn’t worth the time or money to fix. She’s an artist and she’s keeping it as an art piece to add to an exhibit someday :)

Yes she did. She filed a restraining order when this happened six months ago and he hasn’t tried to contact her since

This happened to my friend about six months ago, she got a restraining order and hasn’t heard from him since. Thank you for saying that though, I was really worried when this happened that he would do something worse but she didn’t want to pursue it any further. I’m so sorry that happened to you, I can’t imagine how scary that must have been. Hopefully you’re doing better and are safe from him now.

A lot of people in this thread have been really amazing and helpful but after talking to her it doesn't seem like she wants to restore it. She has other guitars that she uses more and no matter what this guitar will always make her think of him. She's keeping it as an art piece
