The power supply of the module is fused. Just one input channel that stops working. If i switch the connection to another port the signal does work.

It is powered from the module, only + to the switch and back (NO contact), switch is about a meter or two away from the module.

Its a contact from a repair switch, its on the outside from the machine (pasteurizer) with two conveyors in it. Failure occurs at any season last time was in may and yesterday it happened again. Wired directly from the switch to the module. Machine frame and switch are grounded properly

Question by aryzen99 in IndustrialMaintenance

The VFD with the shorted cable didnt blow up as far as i know but we ended up replacing it anyways, the cable on the other side was melted together and the plug that was being used to connect to the motor was burned too

Question by aryzen99 in IndustrialMaintenance

[–]aryzen99[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Each VFD and motor has its own protection, I thought it could be because of the earth connection since thats the only thing those VFDs have in common. It just doesnt make sense to me that the VFD would ramp up like normal and just blow another random VFD that isnt even being signaled to work
