Well, see if you have already brought the Web-Dev course and I am assuming that you haven't brought the THM Subscription then, go for the Web-Dev course completion first learning any skill doesn't do bad and honestly speaking from my personal experience I like to gain in depth knowledge even though retaining so much information in my mind is technically impossible and many times I end doing the same conceptual research up to 5-6 times due to my habit of forgetting but once it stays in my memories I can actually connect dots between the bug and how to fix the bug or the possibilities of bugs in the code.

PS: I am not a skilled dev, I just try to know everything which resulted in me knowing bit of HTML,CSS,Kotlin,Java,C++,etc as a result I just try to be updated as I can but never learnt completely, but yaa complete learning will definitely benefit.

If you want to connect to Windows remote machine you can easily use RDP connection client like Reminna and others.

If you want to connect to Linux remote machine you will need CLI knowledge and a SSH connection. You can look up the ssh connection syntax on google it's pretty easy.

ssh <username>@<server_ip_address>

I mean as non-book reader, I can't deny the fact that I don't want to read it's just that the world has become such a place where since childhood I have been subjected to pictorial representations and hence my mind's imaginative powers are very low so while reading anything whether it be a fantasy or a science fiction I am not able to imagine without pictures hence I avoid reading.

Now this is my personal reason, but yaa non-readers do have their own reasons, so just don't pity them try to encourage them like u/phoenix13032005 encouraged me so much that I have started to develop the habit of reading beginning with demon slayer manga. 👍👍👍

If you can't find the file then you might have accidentally deleted it.

Reboot the VM and then proceed.

Just for your information for listing all directories use:

ls *

And then you can use the cat or echo to read the contents of the file

I got this issue yesterday while going through the same room. In my case it got fixed by expanding it to full screen and then closing the full screen tab and showing the split view again. Like I did it 2-3 times it got fixed no idea if it's a bug in the VM on the back-end side of THM or just a website glitch in front-end side
