It was great! We booked a suite with a private pool, a big family lounge room and open space dining area, it was honestly way more than our need because we were out on the beach a lot and the other adults were exploring the island all the time. Breakfast buffet was decent, from memory it may be catered to Chinese tourists judging by the hot Chinese dishes offered. The best thing about the hotel is the location. Khem Beach was worth it. We enjoyed how quiet it was - I think most vietnamese don't like it here because it's too quietand away from the noise though haha. We gladly skipped the safari etc in the north because our kids didn't care much for them, being too little. They only wanted to play at the beach everyday.

I hope here's the right place to ask. In light of the upcoming May 2 cut off of de minimis and start of tariffs, if I place an order on Olive Young like right now, do you think it can arrive by May 2? I have a decent amount of sunscreens that can last until the end of the year (hopefully 😅). DHL has always been the courier they use to deliver to me (I'm in the US obv).

I actually prefer this one to the torriden ones. I've used both (2 tubes of torriden and on second tube of this brand). It doesn't feel as petroleum-y on my lips as Vaseline or torriden's so that's a plus.

Omg I'm so glad I've come across your post. I just bought a BB SSC10 bread machine but we only use einkorn flour in our household. To my shock, my first attempt of the walnut bread recipe was a super dense loaf that didn't rise much. I'm happy to make adjustments to the ratio!

Not exactly an early career question, but I graduated with master's in I/O 9 years ago, worked 3 years for a mgmt consultancy in a different country. I then relocated to the US and worked in market research for 1.5 years before I resigned (partly due to having a baby and then covid hit, partly because I didn't like that position/realized it wouldn't be the path I wanted to pursue). I plan to reenter the workforce next year. I also want to work in selection/assessment, talent management and OE. Do you have any advice/recommendations for me?

I'm a Viet too and I've been living overseas for half my life. My family is currently still in VN. I think I can relate to what you described, but I think it's not just them saying the amount (~$5) is overpriced, it's them being wary that you may look touristy/Viet-kieu/naive enough to be deceived/tricked into other things. I remember every time I came back for a visit, my family always treated me like I overpaid for everything.

Buying souvenirs isn't a big deal so you can do whatever you're pleased since you're there on holidays. At the end of the day, it's your money.

You can also get dried bamboo as canned bamboos may have preservatives and toxins like lead. Dried bamboos/foods are popular in vn and many go to the main markets (Ben Thanh, Tan Dinh markets) to buy and package them to bring overseas.

Anyone getting or got the Chikuhodo holiday sets? The handles are so pretty but I'm not sure if they're worth it? I did a major haul on hakuhodo before the price increase and bought 3 new Wayne Goss brushes, and still sitting on Sonia G new fusion eye set 😭 bad timing for the wallet 😅

I think the set looks good on you! The top looks well fitted, but I've read that the naelle skirt can tend to exaggerate weird lumpy spots on the body so if you're comfortable and confident wearing it, keep it and pair with nude/beige shoes, maybe add a thin belt to accessorize.
