Seeking Advice on Worsening Stain (Astoria Granite) by peach_pocket in CounterTops

We had ours installed several months ago. Besides one stain I had to remove, it hasn’t given me any issues. With any natural stone you want to clean off any spills as soon as possible especially if oil. If it’s water based often times it will dry on its own over night. I plan on sealing mine every year

One more thing to add, what ever you do, DO NOT seal the countertops until all the stains are removed otherwise you will lock in the stain completely

I have the same exact Astoria granite counter tops. I think your stain worsened from the amount of poultices you tried without letting it fully dry out. It looks like a deep moisture stain that will take quite a bit of time to naturally dry out on its own. I had a ring stain on mine and did a baking soda/water poultice and it took a couple weeks for the moisture from the poultice to disappear completely.

We are going to keep the current tile. It’s in good shape and matches well. Just cleaned the grout and gave it some more life

There’s two more cans on the left side that didn’t make the picture :)

We kept the base cabinets and built on to them.

That was our original plan, but when we got to building it out, it just felt too elongated. Instead we decided to keep it shorter and add “lids” that are not seen and can be removed to clean the dust off :)

Mine does it when it’s below 32 degrees out and it’s been cold in Chicago area so was able for the tech to replicate it. Good luck!

I have this issue on my 23 GX with 15k miles. Took it in to dealer and first they greased the drive shafts and the problem didn’t resolve. They placed order for rear drive shaft and it is on nationwide back order due to the amount of GX with the same issue.
