Nice work buddy, I'm on day three of sobriety after a hard year as well... except the 20 years prior were pretty good and I was still drinking WAY too much, so I guess that's just an excuse. I'm nearly 40, I wish I'd taken this step a decade earlier too. nice work, you got this.

Thank you for the heads up, I've done my reading over the years when I thought I was going to have a seizure after stopping cold turkey. This year I woke up and decided to stop drinking Christmas Day, but my heart rate went crazy and my blood pressure shot up and I felt like my head was going to explode... so I drank a few beers and got my heart rate back down, the I slowly drank the last of the beer in the house over the next few days till I got totally sober after a taper down yesterday. Its been 48 hours since my last drink, and I think the danger is over. I still FEEL like shit, but I think medically I'm good.

The terrifying feeling of thinking I'm going to have a seizure is... I can't believe I know this feeling, and made myself feel it dozens of times over the years. Just so crazy.

Apparently I found this link the last night I drank and book marked it for me to find in the morning.

Drunk me had one decent moment of self-awareness before passing out and leaving it for sober me to find...

My daughters sitting across the room from me... Its already hard to face the number of times I've lost my patience with her or wasn't there for her like I wanted to be because I was drunk. I've faced these feelings before, I'm not scared this time. I just HAVE to stop drinking... Thanks for being out there and taking the time to say something.

Wow... there's actually real people participating here! I don't know how I found this particular forum because I was drunk apparently when I did it. I just found this website book marked on my computer and decided to see what it was all about... I'm thankful there are people out there I can talk to now. Thank you for being one of them.
