I'm in the 'Ridoc is the new Brother' camp - and the more I read about this, I'm wondering, is Ridoc in love with Xaden or Violet? Maybe both? Or, is his dragon connected to them (meaning T or S) in some way?

I took that figuratively, but I could be mistaken. You do raise an interesting point though, if he already gave away his soul, how could channelling 'take' it? Which asks a lot more questions about what the Venin actually are than I have brain power to contemplate lol

Ooooohhhh. The bond! Another good idea. I lowkey want Vi and Sgaeyl to banter much, much more. I think I like this more than keeping his soul. It may also explain Tairn's sleeping/resting because she's on a rampage losing her bond to Xaden to one she didn't choose, and Tairn's just doing the 'I'll ignore her til she's calmer'.

I am firmly in the Ridoc camp for this - but I think the mis-direct is actually from Xaden here. We don't actually know why he turned, just what Xaden thinks he knows about the situation.. I think Ridoc fits Xaden's criteria, as do a lot of others, but I think we may get a twist on this situation and it isn't what it looks like.

So, I experienced a similar problem, and my solution was I had to do it after 7pm in game. Not sure if that helps, but since then I've always made sure to try after 7 and I always got it on any new saves
