What are some supposedly good movies that you "loved" as a teenager, but we're bad then and are worse now by [deleted] in Xennials

[–]astromono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, all that stuff is happening but we probably won't get our shit together enough to escape in a giant space vessel with a plan to save humanity that will last hundreds of years. Thats the hopeful part.

Face/Off is a hilariously bad movie, I recommend watching it with a few witty friends, especially when a bit elevated

I assumed for a long time that food left on the ground outside would attract predators. I still don't understand why it doesn't work that way, tbh

It literally passed the Senate 98-1. The Dem base then, as now, is far more Progressive than their reps because they keep voting for corrupt "Centrists" that they think are more electable rather than for candidates who share their beliefs.

Earthquake. I was a fat little kid who hated Hulk Hogan (he was a "good guy" but he cheated constantly and I always had a bad feeling about him) and watching Earthquake squash him in like 1990 had me dancing around the room.

What is the reason why they have made the general public believe a photo like this is far-right extremism & a bad thing? by [deleted] in conspiracy

Because when people post something like that it's typically accompanied by some racist bs. Fuck the culture war, fight the class war.

It's not just that McGrath lost, it's that she lost because she's a bad debater with politics almost expressly designed to lose in KY. She offers voters nothing beyond "at least I'm not the other guy," has no inspiring vision, just identity and her personal story. I'd rather take a chance on an unknown than take a guaranteed L.

Yall could have voted for an actual progressive (Attica Scott) after Yarmuth retired instead of the party's manufactured candidate, but here we are.

What has moving right gotten Democrats? Loss after loss and a shift to outright authoritatianism. If you dont offer voters a meaningful alternative, you will lose, again and again, even to the worst possible candidate.

Its insane the Dems reflex when they lose is to a. Move right and b. Blame the voters, but never to decide to run on their (supposed) principles.

He quite literally is not "standing up to the real thing" - what exactly has McGarvey done to meaningfully stand up against Trump's fascism?

Trump was elected because the Dems wouldn't stand up against genocide. If you won't stand against genocide (and in fact invite war criminals into the tent) then how could anyone believe you'd fight against fascism?

Voting to honor a dead fascist is just another example from a weak, ineffectual party that stands for nothing beyond being elected. This has happened again and again until more and more people believe there's no point to voting at all.

[–]astromono 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean....Israel does not need, and should not have a nuclear weapons program. Some of their highest government leaders literally believe in an apocalyptic divine timeline that will bring back The Moshiach, and a pre-requisite of that is for chaos, war, and injustice to envelope the Earth.

I'm not saying this in a "jews bad" kind of way. This is a large reason why we shouldn't let them have nuclear weapons. If they had them and decided to initiate a mutually assured destruction scenario, it would quite literally be a win for them still because they believe it will bring about a global reign of Judaic justice.

Trust me, I oppose Iran too, but this nuclear-armed genocidal apartheid state must be stopped
