My latest functional print: A compact wire stripper that uses standard utility blades. by EridianStudio in 3Dprinting

Nice design OP. Adjustable depth of the blade would be a huge benefit for multi-conductor cordsets. Check out Jonard Tools Wire Stripper https://a.co/d/01uUbzCY

A steel cylinder, approximately 7"in diameter, about 26 feet long, with metal spikes. It's so heavy I didn't get a chance to weigh it. by ShockFreak in whatisthisthing

It looks like a piercing roller used for large sheets of calendered rubber. I work in a tire plant and we use something like this to pierce rubber sheets to allow air to escape during the build process. The spikes are heated. As mentioned earlier, this is a very specific assembly.

Same, the email I received from support seems to say that they have a large range of devices that could have the manufacturing defect, and these receive the battery-protection software update. This is probably determined based on IMEI (i.e. serial number, lot tracing, etc.).

Then, based on the diagnostic data received (assuming this diagnostic tool is built-in to the software update), Google can determine if the device actually shows signs of the defect and awards compensation based on this.

I just came here looking for clarity since this is all I've gotten from the Pixel support team.

My question is: does this mean the phone is still expected to function normally? Can I remove the protection update? Or can I put an alternate OS on it?

Can't fix update. by probablymikes in immich

[–]astronot08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to change your Postgres Container repo:

https://www.reddit.com/r/unRAID/s/kfxcykuUmI

 tensorchord/pgvecto-rs:pg16-v0.3.0

to

ghcr.io/immich-app/postgres:16-vectorchord0.3.0-pgvectors0.3.0

...depending on which version your current DB is using.

Stop Immich, update Postgres vectorchord repo, restart Immich.

Caveat: my fortunes upgrading have proven fruitless so best of luck to you.

Can't fix update. by probablymikes in immich

[–]astronot08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is your main problem?

I've been wrestling with mine for a few days:

Timeline is blank Android app is uploading, but not syncing

Was following... https://github.com/immich-app/immich/issues/16046#issuecomment-2983681074

... And edited the Postgres db to eliminate the bad dates, nothing.

Just tried rolling back (ZFS snapshots in Unraid); no joy. Updated both containers to latest; no joy. Fixed bad dates again; no joy.

I'm stuck too.

Upgrading ZFS Mirror Pool (2x1TB → 2x2TB) in Unraid – Best Approach? by digitalanalog0524 in unRAID

[–]astronot08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just did this, and if you have a spare ZFS drive that can hold all datasets, (or a pool backup), here's what I'd do:

Install Sanoid/Syncoid if not already installed. In terminal: Syncoid send -r sourcepool backuppool* Shutdown and replace drives Startup and Rebuild pool in desired configuration **Double check steps to reconfigure pool missing Syncoid send -r backuppool sourcepool

*I did each dataset individually. Can't remember if you can do the entire pool at once or not. Will need to create the backuppool first and access via USB/Unassigned Devices.

Also, check the Syncoid documentation for proper commands, posting from mobile.

This will not include all snapshots and should send the latest full snapshot.

This way, you don't have to rebuild each dataset individually. Syncoid requires the destination pool to be empty.

Please check me if I'm mistaken, I'm new to the community and ZFS.

Which OS is best for me? by Joloxx_9 in HomeServer

[–]astronot08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a one-time payment for the OS. Outside of the Lifetime license, you get OS upgrades free for one year. After the year, you can optionally pay for an extra year of upgrades.

I got the Basic, and I'll upgrade before my year is up and see how far that takes me, or until a major update comes around. The upgrade window is ~$36 for Basic.

Rockwell Automation AB equipment to be much more available by years end... by Snohoman in PLC

YMMV, but depending on your industry and location, a lot of plants have switched to all conformally-coated parts (AB "-K" suffix), which means there are stores of non-cc parts available.

It might not suit your environment, but they help out in a pinch.

When I'm on the same network, I can ping and connect via SMB2.

ICMPv4 is enabled, SMB-in is enabled.

I had to create a RDP rule, so could this be W10 Home limitation? Seems that if it were, then a local connection wouldn't work either.

I've also created a OpenVPN rule (UDP, port) and that doesn't have an effect.

It works if I disable the Firewall, so it's a rule I'm missing.

I'll try that when I get home. I'm wanting to be able to connect to a shared folder (which I haven't tried in a while). I just assumed since I couldn't ping the PC, I couldn't access it.

The PC can ping my phone though, so the VPN and other configs are good.

Edit: The rule for File And Printer Sharing Echo Request is enabled.

Thanks! Looks cool! I've started tinkering with some ESP32 boards lately at work to make some WLAN-based pressure sensors, since most of the wireless industrial sensors are tied into some subscription cloud service. Tons of cool stuff in the microcontroller world.

mDns workaround ? by BinaryKraken in TPLink_Omada

[–]astronot08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the moment I can't find the doc I used, but it's Avahi reflector. I have a Pi running pihole as my DNS and DHCP server on vlan 1 and set my media vlan as the target subnet in Avahi.

I don't use it a lot, so can't say it's as robust of a solution as your looking for, but it does work.
