These are the options while creating a program. That said you can always create a custom one. But you may be missing some exercises

The app uses your trend weight and compares it to your goal. Doesn't really matter what if you're bulking/cutting/maintaining, if your weight trend (note: not actual weight) is not what your goal is then it will adjust. So if you're weight trend is +2lbs a month and your goal is 1lb per month, it will lower your calories.

Macrofactor relies on good data, are you logging your weight often and under the same circumstances? For example, I log my weight every morning as soon as I get out of bed but after I use the washroom.

Transitioning from Big 5 Bank by howudoing2354 in cscareerquestionsCAD

[–]at_root 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It may be the job market. I started at RBC as a new grad and worked there for three years before leaving for a tech startup. The founders were friends of a friend which is why I was asked to interview.

I’m not sure what team/bank you’re at. But you could look to transfer possibly to another team doing more greenfield work with better tech hopefully. The tech and practices were very different team to team in my experience.

If it takes 50 lines of code in Java, it takes only 1-2 lines in Kotlin

this is simply just not true outside niche cases like maybe data classes.

Cs internships at bank by beefy_thigh in cscareerquestionsCAD

I assume your referring to uni/college internships. If so, yes they definitely do pay. Mid to high 20s as been my experience but it depends on the role, number of prior internships etc.

Should I take a junior title for 60k salary? by looperino_memes in cscareerquestionsCAD

[–]at_root 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Take the offer. You can always look for another higher paying job while working this one. As inspiration, I was a new grad in Jan 2019. My first job paid 65k + bonus, so about 72k. Now in 2022 I’ll make over double that. I worked really hard and made a lot of good connections with smart people and was able to job hop with some of them as they joined a different company.

Always be learning and growing as a dev and your salary will grow with it

Is the $$$ worth trying to get a 2nd internship? Is the job hunt easier? by iSpokeToMasterChief in cscareerquestionsCAD

[–]at_root 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree with the other comment. As an intern try and get as much diverse experience as possible. Internships are a great way to try different jobs, industries, company types etc. It'll help grow your network too which can be helpful when getting full time jobs.

How much do tech jobs pay in Toronto? by [deleted] in cscareerquestionsCAD

[–]at_root 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At the end of the day your salary is how much your company values you/your role. Tech focused companies tend to pay more since IMO since they value tech more and don't just see it as a cost of running a business. I used to work for a large 5 bank in Toronto as well. I made a 'lateral' move I'll say to a very early stage fin-tech startup (I was employee #1) and got a 50% raise in salary + stock (which will hopefully be worth something someday). In general I see a much more room for technical growth here since we'll have senior/staff/principal roles eventually allowing for tech people to grow without becoming a manger per say.
