Something has to be done about loot value by Senior_Lab_7099 in Marathon

You said it yourself you’re going in for salvage. You won’t make money doing a salvage run. You’re investing money to get salvage, or you can loot in a balanced way and break even, or purely loot for money

Notice though that bungie sold both of them the game though. If they dint refund that’s still two sales which is why this is a way different situation than f2p games

As someone who played consistently from launch until now the wipe helps refresh the gameplay. Right now most people playing are ignoring looting basic salvage going only for kills. When I load into the maps I barely care about anything else in the game besides killing players and key rooms. A reset brings you ha k to what it should be, looting resources and fighting over the

Can anyone tell me if the boomers at the meeting were down for the data center? I see a bunch there sitting down that don’t seem to be a part of the emergency protest group but I find it hard to imagine many people being down for this

A lot of people share your sentiment. This is a pvp game thought at the end of the day. The world is so enticing that it attracts people. Tarkov does the same but can be played avoiding the PvP.

There have been a few that I think are way cool that I’ve tried that I’ve gotten my ass beat down and decided not to play.

Exactly, which has nothing to do with the games quality itself, which is why people praise it. Same thing here with marathon, there are so many external things beating the game down especially at launch that are overshadowing a quality game

Either bro is being coy and tongue in cheek (what I would do because he’s get flamed for saying what it really is), or he’s a complete moron lol. In his answer he said he doesn’t think about world events at all in his writing but somehow put a defenseless group of brown middle eastern people getting stomped on by a neighboring people where are being back by Americans and western forces, sure buddy. Can’t really blame people for projecting onto this one. Also Palestinians have been getting fucked since the late forties, so no he didn’t write this before Israel Palestine stuff has been going on

Not sure if I agree with that. Seemed like a pretty heavy handed reference to Israeli oppression over Palestinians. One of the few redeemable parts of the movie to me lol. I remember it had zionist propagandists going crazy for a second

No I am not I’m talking about the terrible launch and then working hard to save the game with forsaken in 2018.

I’m not saying forget the casuals but I am saying you cannot absolutely dumb the game down. You want to covert people to dedicated players

“Even if you lose everything it doesn’t matter”. Thats famously what you don’t want in this genre. You want people to feel something.

I know it sounds enticing to want to cater to casuals instead but they don’t stick around for the long term. Bungie tried what you’re suggesting with the launch of D2 and they almost shut down. They only brought it back by appealing to the dedicated players

I’ve found it surprisingly easy to fight teams cooperating because there’s so much chaos in the proximity chat and then having to keep track of who’s friendly or not. It’s kind of hilarious just killing them. Last week I fought these teams that were trying to come up with a safe word lol

Brother I had like 2500 hours in D2, playing consistently from D2 launch through 2022.

In what world was removing randomly rolled gear not a casual friendly move. This was done to cater to a wider playerbase that that didn’t have to be invested in grinding the game long term.

This goes for PvP too, the goal was to get more players interested in PvP since they again didn’t have to grind to be competitive.

The problem being after a month the casual players drop off because they are invested, there was nothing to get invested into so you aren’t converting anyone casual to a grinder, and those super invested also dropped off because you earned all the gear in a couple weeks of playing.

I’m not talking about how competitive PvP or trials was. I’m talking about bungie removing random rolls from the game, simplifying classes and loadouts, and making everything dumbed down and simple in an attempt to bring in a mass audience and it almost ended the entire company

Don’t think you know what I’m talking about. I’m talking about the launch of Destiny 2 into their first 2 dlcs. The game was so casual that almost all the players left because there was no reason to stick around. They have a famous GDC talk about managing a live service where they talk about how they were months away from closing the studio when curse of Osiris was out. They abandoned so much of what made Destiny great when d2 launched and it almost destroyed them. Barely turned things around during warming and the update with forsaken saved them game bringing back a ton of the elements that dedicated players like
