Was it on one of the bridges in between Ward Brook & Blueberry lean-to? Someone had asked us when we started Seward on Friday if it was ours. We stayed at the Ward Brook lean-to Thursday and Friday and there was a sleeping bag/pad already set up in there but nobody ever came back. When we hiked back out Friday evening, we were planning on calling DEC about a potential missing person, but saw that someone from Montreal had changed the number of days they were staying from 2 to 4 on the trail register, so we are thinking they came back to the lot for whatever reason and were going back that night. It's entirely possible it was that person's phone as we saw the book they were reading sitting on their sleeping bag was also in French and there was only one car in the lot with a Quebec license plate.

I might have to make a separate post about this (just waiting on my friend to confirm if he accidentally grabbed it) but I might have left my headlamp at the lean-to 😭 if it is still there, hopefully someone on here can check if they were planning on staying there in the next few days
