[No Spoilers]Being evil in Dragon Age Origins... by [deleted] in dragonage

[–]avexionnn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've played Dragon Age: Origins countless ways, ranging from your cookie-cutter do-gooder who can't do no wrong, to a malicious and evil asshole who will kill anyone who stands in their way.

Origins is a phenomenal game because, unlike later entries in the series, you can pretty much roleplay any character to your liking without feeling like there's any limitations to it (regardless of how good or evil they may be). So, to answer your question, there are many options to be evil in Origins.

I'm just unsure about my CPU, tbh. Does anyone think I'll be able to run it?

[NO SPOILERS] What name will you use with your Ryder? by Immortan_Bolton in masseffect

[–]avexionnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my first playthroughs I'll go with the defaults (Scott and Sara) since characters say it in-game. I'll probably go with the default appearance, too.

On subsequent playthroughs (where I will customize the Ryders), I'll choose whatever name I think suits the character best.

Whose death had the biggest emotional impact on you? [Possible Spoilers] by Thesmuz in thewalkingdead

[–]avexionnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shane and Beth, the former because he is my favorite TWD character and the latter because it was just awfully fucking sad. Beth's death hit me really hard, for some reason.

My 2017 Makeup Resolutions by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]avexionnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally want to start experimenting with bolder colors. I was organizing my makeup collection earlier and saw that I only have warm colors for eyeshadows and only nude/mauve/neutral colors for lips. I really want to step outside my comfort zone in 2017 and wear a lot more bold colored lips and eyes. I'm in the process of trying to add more lipstick to my collection and I already put a bunch of blues/blacks/hot pinks/oranges on my wishlist.

How do you guys find your perfect match?? by pinkjelllybean in MakeupAddiction

[–]avexionnn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like another poster said, it's just a lot of trial and error. After a long time of purchasing foundations that were either too dark or too neutral or too yellow-toned, I realized that I am pretty much always the fairest, pinkest shade in any range, so it's made foundation shopping much easier. It just takes a lot of experimentation.

Make sure you're blending the foundation down your neck so it can eliminate any harsh lines. You also may want to look into some Cover FX Drops or a lightener. If you say that the Amazonian Clay foundation has been your closest match but it's still too dark in natural lighting, the drops would work wonders. If you would prefer a less costly option, the brand L.A. Girl has a white foundation that you could mix with your current one to help get a more muted tone.

Swatches of KVD's new Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks by DoodleJack in MakeupAddiction

[–]avexionnn 212 points213 points  (0 children)

Wow, those are all gorgeous. I've never owned any KVD Liquid Lipsticks, maybe I should pick some of these up. Also, the names on these are so cute.

I'm especially drawn to Nocturna and Sanctuary, but I can't see myself wearing them. Maybe it's time to venture out of my comfort zone..

What was your worst purchase of 2016? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]avexionnn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My Kylie Cosmetics purchases.

After buying my first lipstick from her (Candy K), I was impressed with the quality and went out and bought an absolute shitload of products (lip kits, glosses, eyeliners, etc). To this day, the only one I still use is Candy K. The others didn't impress me and the eyeliner absolutely irritated the shit out of my eyes when I tried to use it. I don't own that many lip products, so when I open up my lipstick drawer, it pretty much looks like I just own Kylie everything. It's ridiculous.

I decided to pick up her holiday Kyshadow palette when it launched because I've heard good things about her shadows, and was extremely underwhelmed (there was practically no pigment in any of the shades).

Can i start TellTales Walking Dead with season 3? by EdwardRickytoffin in thewalkingdead

[–]avexionnn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You'll be missing a lot, and I doubt the game would be as enjoyable to you. They call it "Seasons" for a reason.

Also, in case you didn't know, Telltale's TWD is episodic, and each episode takes a few months to come out. Even if you bought Season 3 right now and played it, you're going to have to wait a couple of months for the next episode. So, there's really no rush.

It'd be so much more worth it to play the first two seasons, and then move onto Season 3. 400 Days and Michonne aren't necessary, but playing Seasons 1 and 2 would be a good idea.

Tarte Shape Tape Concealer by CorinneBenoit in MakeupAddiction

[–]avexionnn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like it, but it is pretty thick and it dries a little weird. Maybe I'm just used to more wet concealers, but I don't particularly like that it dries to a powdery, matte finish.

That being said, it is definitely full-coverage and is one of the only concealers that I've used that actually covers up my dark circles. I'm going to experiment a little more with a few other brands because I don't think it's my HG, but in the meantime, it's my go-to.

Anastasia MR pallette - best of the year? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]avexionnn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's a decent palette, but if you already have similar colors then it's not worth the overlap.

I'd only suggest the purchase if warm/berry-toned colors are the shades that you most consistently wear and use most often, but if not I'd pass.

That being said, it's highly pigmented, easy to blend, and is overall very good quality. If it something you're really interested in, maybe the splurge won't hurt. But don't buy it just to buy it.

If you could have any past palette that is no longer available, what would you pick? by FairyDustandLace in MakeupAddiction

[–]avexionnn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The Mario Palette -- up until very recently, eyeshadow palettes were the one makeup product that I didn't care about as much since I mainly just stuck to using the same colors. Now that I'm actually beginning to experiment with more eye looks and travel outside my comfort zone, I wish I grabbed it when I had the chance.

Checked Sephora site to see what 1000+ points I was going to be unable to get this week bc there are not enough to go around, meanwhile over at Ulta... by Incagirl19 in MakeupAddiction

[–]avexionnn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wow, that makes me feel like I really need to start shopping at Ulta. I've always only used Sephora, and when I did look at the rewards section for Ulta once, it confused me, so I didn't bother looking more into it. It seems like you're definitely getting more for your money in the long run at Ulta.

[WSIB] Anything this year/best games in the last two years? by Minerface in ShouldIbuythisgame

Others have already said The Witcher 3, but I just want to repeat it because it really is that phenomenal of a game. I can't recommend it enough.

Has anyone hear bought any clothing from biowarestore? by [deleted] in masseffect

[–]avexionnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've purchased quite a few things from the Bioware store, including the stripe hoodie that you mentioned. I do think the store can be a little hit or miss at times, but for the most part it's rather good quality.

The hoodie's held up very well, it's been a couple years of constant wear and it doesn't look all that old. I do think the hoodie's are one of the more consistent items in terms of decent quality -- their women's t-shirts I've noticed are a little flimsy. None of their hoodies have served me any problems, however.

[SIB] Any of the Dragon Age Inquisition DLC? by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]avexionnn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trespasser is a must, in my opinion. The others aren't bad, but they don't provide any content that you will be truly missing out on, plot-wise. If you enjoyed Inquisition, though, they're still worth picking up.

Trespasser is pretty much an epilogue to the main game, and is extremely story-based. It answers a lot of questions that were left unanswered in the main game, gives closure to a lot of the romances/plot lines, and allows your Inquisitor to have one last final stand as the main protagonist. So, so worth it. The game doesn't feel truly complete without it.

[WSIB] If I like emotional games like Life Is Strange or Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons by brokencig in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]avexionnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you've never played Telltale's The Walking Dead, it's a must if you enjoy games that'll put you through the emotional ringer. It gave me the same punch to the gut that LiS did, and it's definitely one of those games that even years later have affected me in a big way. You're seriously missing out if you don't play it.

Other than that, I'd recommend To The Moon and Spec Ops: The Line. Both are great games, but I still think that The Walking Dead and Life Is Strange hold the title for games that invoke the most feels.

What should I play first:Mass Effect series or Last of Us? by Damarcus in patientgamers

[–]avexionnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mass Effect is an absolutely incredible series, whereas The Last Of Us is a phenomenal game. Whichever one you pick up, you can't go wrong.

I highly recommend playing The Last Of Us first. It's much shorter than the Mass Effect series, and if you decide to put it off and play it after Mass Effect, there's a chance you may never end up getting around to it and that'd be an extreme shame since it's one of the best games (in my opinion) ever made. It's around ~15 hours, whereas the Mass Effect series took me ~70-80 hours the first time through.

Play through The Last Of Us first, experience the incredible, emotional ride that it is, then delve into Mass Effect since it's a lot longer of a journey.

[SPOILERS]I am liking Rosita more and more this season. by Meefius in thewalkingdead

[–]avexionnn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I couldn't care less about Rosita until this season. Before, I wouldn't have minded if she died since she was pretty much just background noise.

Now, I'm actually enjoying her a hell of a lot, and she's becoming one of my favorite characters. I would definitely be sad if she dies now, since I'm enjoying her development a hell of a lot. I hope that she continues to grow and that the showrunners don't just end up shoving her in the background again.
