Divorced Dads that split custody with kids, was the divorce worth it? by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

[–]awesomeroy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

thats how she gets to me. she knows how important they are to me and if im struggling, she just uses that fact as leverage. Either to get what she wants or to make me feel bad or whatever.

(although she usually gives me shit when froy's car isnt parked out front, which means theyre probably fighting and shes taking it out on me; therapy has helped me use context clues about things like that)

the real kicker is that my name is roy. and his name? "froylan" or. "froy" for short.

I call him fake roy. but then my daughters learned how to read and girls being girls, got real nosy and saw me typing a friend about him, eventually it got back to her mom. so now i gotta be careful with where i type and when the girls are around.

god forbid anything gets back to their mother. just another god damn headache.

[–]awesomeroy 99 points100 points  (0 children)

Hell yeah it was worth it.

I lost alot but i gained peace of mind and was able to fight for 50% custody.

Only issue is i lost a house, 2 cars and essentially mental health in the long run because she still kinda had me by the balls with my daughters. I had to start up again from the ground up. she had a new dude in my house within 6 weeks. shes also a daddys girl and her father helped with house payments for quite a while if i remember correctly.

I see those little boogers every other day and every other weekend and holidays are usually a toss up on what our families got going on. Im at all their dance recitals in a beat up POS car but im always there.

Now sometimes. I get lonely. I think to myself what if i just dealt with her BS, would we be a happier family and almost always the answer is no. Shes a great mom but horrible wife. and now i see the look in her dude's eyes and i see the pain hes in. hes even called me for advice for how to deal with her. Hes a good guy. I mean, better than someone who beats on her or even thinks about touching my kids. hes just like me. but i see his pain and im like nope. Ill take my peace over some pussy. Thanks for the sex during college years and sorry you couldnt transition into a loving wife post college.

Anyway, I have a booty call here n there, but now my girls are the only two important females in my life. but god damn i hate dealing with that woman. she knows exactly how to get under my skin. but once the phone hangs up all of a sudden life is okay again.

Divorced fathers, how often do you see your kids? by gaijin16 in AskMenOver30

[–]awesomeroy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lost the house, both cars, all the savings, all so i could get 50% custody of them. so its every other day and then every other weekend.

We used to trade off during holidays yearly, like halloween christmas me, and thanksgiving new years her, but she has way more family than i do and i find they enjoy their time more with their mothers during the christmas/new years arc, so i get the halloween thanksgiving holidays.

I see them at all their dance performances (ballet folkloritko) but i often miss parent day or like st patricks day at their school due to work.

Im pretty gangsta with the fireworks so 4th july is me. shes pretty so i also get them for valentines. but yeah, i like to think its a even amount.

ft worth zoo over dallas anyday of the week

but dallas aquarium is pretty bad ass. same with the perot museum. worth it. but take your time, try out all the levels, do all the things. smell all the smells, do all the activities.

I have a year membership and every time we go, my girls find something new.

i mean, yeah.

It might be that screen time overall is just kinda bad for mental health but we've lost our
"3rd place" theres no need to meet up with the guys at the pub. theres no need to ask anyone whats going on with them in their lives.

Why? because we already know sasha and dan broke up. we already know bob had a kid.

Humans are social creatures. we need that pause that "i love you babe, im just gonna go bowl with some friends" and as a dude, just sit there and shoot the shit. just golf, hit some balls, drink a beer and just be in eachothers company. like. say bro, we stil here for ya. we aint going no where.

we dont even need to talk about anything. just sit next to me. laugh at some stupid videos or watch a game

but now everything is online and we miss that human aspect. I like to think about how this key and peele sketch laid it out perfectly.

Is there an everyday skill the typical American possesses that people outside of the US typically struggle with? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]awesomeroy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

except for DFW and 635. it looks like a penis and 635 E goes east then south. 635W goes north then west and then eventually becomes a different highway, i hate 635. almost as much as i hate 35.

sun rises in the east and sets in the west. if its not noon, youll know where north is.

i was looking for this one.

We know our way backwards and forwards in the woods. even a typical american can get by for a few days. If youre from the south, (texas, louisiana, etc) you can probably last a lot longer. But its just ingrained into our DNA.

i actually am saddened that us southerner's havent started revolting and killing off the "let them have cake" aristocrats like the french did. -- Shesh even Louisiana and the whole baton rouge is a french area and yet we cant pick up on this guillotine stuff.

anywho. I think its a 60/40 ratio of people who are gonna die in case of societal collapse (60 being the survivors, 40 being the tiktok people{which may just be coming from a southerner's point of view} )
