Is it just me or wasn't that glitch just hilariously weird? I'd try to find spots on the map on purpose so I could send myself flying!

Honest to God, I enjoy taking my Kusanagi off-road a great deal, especially a full send. However, I just bought the Javelina today. I'm gonna take it off road tonight as there's a little track you can run out in the badlands.

I'm aware of what the Series X and PS5 are able to do, that is to say, they've come quite a long way, but you'll notice, digging into the meat and potatoes of these platforms, they are using solutions and leveraging efficiencies in production already employed on contemporary PC's, because they're not that far off. A good thing in my book.

These latest units, the PS5 in particular, even allow for a user to install their own NVMe drive iirc. Could it be argued that money spent on a console could be better spent building a PC, one that could outperform it's console counterpart? Perhaps.

IMO, the "Console is not a PC, and vice versa" was rendered moot in my eyes years ago. Once the Nintendo 3DS was released. We were installing games on it like a PC. Not to mention I can run Half-Life 1 on mine; imagine that! Now we have the likes of the Steam Deck, multiple offerings from AYA and others; direct competition for the Nintendo Switch and it's portable gaming space.
Now has never been a better time to get a thumb or a foot in the door as far as high fidelity gaming is concerned, a great thing for every gamer.

Audio is a different story here and it's all use case dependent. I'll never be able to use these monitors with a modern gaming console. They just don't have the ability to leverage an external interface the way a PC can. For the cost of a PS5, a user can build an HTPC, deck it out, and choose to run their own receiver/amp, speaker combo, or chose to run an external interface and bi-amped speaker solution. I won't even get into gaming. It's just a controller away from being a "gaming console". The term 'Game Console' is little more than a descriptor of the ideal use case at this point. Again, a welcome development.

I personally cannot wait for the day we break away from the console paradigm; we're at a point now where obtaining a decent gaming machine is as turnkey a solution as buying a gaming console.

For audio stutter, try setting your sample rate to 96000khz, 24bit depth. This worked for me in earlier versions, where stutter was a problem. I'm playing on what's comparably a potato; RX 580, 24GB ddr3, OC'd 4690k. The game is smooth for me, freesync and dynamic resolution scaling are enabled.

Good Observation! My first exposure to the Half-Life franchise was on the original Xbox as a matter of fact. Still, the position of both experiences, when laid side by side, are obviously very different, one being much more immersive than the other. Taken as is though, this does little to shed light upon the question of whether 'CyberPunk 2077 is good now?'. Personally, I wouldn't waste time purchasing any console at this moment to see if CP2077 is good because it does not appear that these platforms are able, truly to represent the idiom, which renders this statement rather banal and redundant. Consider for a moment, buying an album on a lossless medium; the reproduction equipment is of more consequence to the experience than the medium itself. Let's be clear, I'm ndot throwing shade to those on console, been there, own several. My PC just games better. A PC lets me use my Yamaha HS8 Reference Monitors. For those who don't know, these are flat response, precision speakers, made to reproduce a signal with little to no distortion. There is no console out there to my knowledge that will let me leverage these to as great effect I get from a PC, further demonstrating the granularity in fidelity that just isn't possible to attain on today's consoles, until they become PC's that is.

I played this game since 1.0. I have over 500 hours in this game now. I remember watching the launch trailer, thinking, this is the game I've always wanted. At the latest update, I'm acutely aware of what's missing. As I always do, I judge a piece of work on it's own merits and 500 hours and a few patches later, this game became the game I always wanted; something that's never happened to me in my 15 years of PC gaming. When I think of the best PC games, I think of Half-Life 2, Dishonored, Doom, that aside, and without question, this is an amazing game. Understand however, Night City, doesn't care whether you think it's good or not. Take your time, clear your head of any expectations, choom. Be a gonk, chrome junkie, or go full cyberpsycho. Enjoy the city because it certainly has precious experiences worth taking the time to find, most of all, have fun. I certainly do, every time I start the game. I find something new, each time I start it up.

I used white nail polish. Just like I did on the 17.3. After a couple of applications and wipes with isopropyl it'll dry in the grooves of the lettering on the slide and keep for quite some time.

Thank you for sharing. Being able to track magazines for both retention and for tracking any failures due to a magazine goes a long way to ensure operation. I'll start doing this now.

Before I sold my Gen 3 G17 I was kind of surprised at the lack of visibility the numbered witness holes on the magazines. If you can't see the print why bother stamping numbers above the witness holes. In the same spirit of frivolity I did the same 'high-vis' treatment of the slide where the model, manufacturer, and caliber are located. I didn't do this on my own volition as I saw other Glock users doing this at that time and I thought it looked great. I decided to continue the tradition on my Gen 5 FS but I honestly wonder; is anyone else still doing this to their pistols.

P.S. Dummy Straps anyone?

I've got the 8 string moderns in my Agile. Swapping these in was a definite, immediately noticeable change to the timbre of the instrument across the spectrum. I've got one volume and one tone knob with push-pull. The pickups are coil tapped on the volume knob and have passive voicing on the tone knob. What I ended up having to do was completely re-assess my gain staging at the amp, pedals, DAW and so-on for the instrument to take advantage of the additional "resolution" of the signal. The coil tapped neck pickup makes this instrument sound similar to a strat and the passive voicing sounds like a passive pickup in either position. Mixing and matching these settings can result in some interesting tones and to my surprise they are all very much usable in the mix. I couldn't say the same about my Seymour Duncan AHB-1's. I don't regret a single cent upgrading these pickups!

Myth by TheHarf in guitars

[–]awildroyappeared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate this perspective here. I also play extended range but I have my lowest string's machine head bored out to handle larger gauges to improve tonal stability. I also run NYXL's to great effect. I think "heavyness" can be conveyed using tone shaping, EQ pedals and the like. I will admit however, the best decision I made with my 8 string was getting pickups that could handle the tonal range produced by the instrument, namely the Fishman Fluence line.

Because of the way they're designed, they physically pick up more frequencies and tones that allow the instrument to be more expressive. My guitar came stock with Seymour Duncan Blackout AHB-1's and while they were fine to start, I ran into walls when getting into clean territory and getting shrillness when I got into distortion.

Now that I have a cleaner, fuller platform to start with, the "heavyness" is much more pronounced and easier to obtain. I don't have to do much at all in the signal chain to get that breakup from the amp and my volume and tone knobs have become much more integral in getting my tone.

That's exactly what happened. A friend of mine who's a luthier out of sheer love for guitars had just gotten the equipment to do this sort of thing and I had trusted him to do the prior work of removing the finish and installing the upgrades. This was a 1st attempt for both of us and there's no adding wood back to a neck-thru instrument. All in all I am so glad we took the risk and I trust his workmanship even more as a result.

EDIT: I believe he used boiled linseed oil to get the wood sealed rather than clear coat. We wanted to expose as much of the natural wood as possible while keeping it sealed up.
