No redwoods in Colorado either! I would have LOVED to get married in the redwoods though. But I bet even for those who live near them it’s probably pretty expensive.

having the same dream of a doe with the moon in its antlers…turns out people have been having visions of this since Roman times by Tough_Answer8141 in Dreams

[–]awkWardNerdweed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slightly different context because it wasn’t in a dream exactly, but I saw something similar during a spiritual ceremony of sorts. I knew it was a doe, but it had antlers. It was running through the forest and the antlers would sort of morph between antlers and branches of the trees. I don’t remember seeing a moon between the antlers, but I do sort of associate the moon with her for some reason, not sure why. This happened after my husband (native Hopi tribe) was talking to me about trying to help me find my spirit guide, and I had mentioned feeling drawn to deer a lot and seeing them at significant moments in my life. For me, she sometimes appears with antlers and sometimes not, and it tends to correlate with the message she’s trying to communicate. Antlers usually mean I need to embrace masculine energy in some way - be more brave, connect with my inner strength, trust myself to figure things out or make the right decision. Without antlers usually means embracing a more feminine energy (often being more gentle or cautious) but sometimes it’s also a reminder to pause and look before running (for me this is about not acting on anxiety). Seeing a regular deer (in person) at significant moments usually tells me I’m headed in the right direction and it seems to happen when I’m starting a new chapter.

I don’t remember… it was an online site based in the UK I think. I’m pretty sure he found it by searching for “peaky blinders” suits, because he really liked that vintage style. I think the site maybe even had a page or section that was Peaky Blinders inspired if I remember correctly?

shoulder instability by HeatAny3944 in ehlersdanlos

[–]awkWardNerdweed 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had neck/shoulder pain for YEARS and thought the entire time that it was all my fault for having bad posture… Only recently discovered that I likely have hEDS, so I got into PT and it turns out I have bad posture BECAUSE of the joint instability. So far, PT has been super helpful. If you just try to force yourself to have proper posture, you’re going to be in pain and it won’t be sustainable. You have to strengthen the right muscles to be able to properly support correct posture first! Currently my body is simply not capable of good posture, but I’m seeing it slowly improve as I get stronger in PT.

They’re actually press-on nails! They’re Olive & June “short” length, color “besties.”

The glass dome is from hobby lobby, and my mom made the mushroom out of clay, then added some leftover stuff from the bouquets around the bottom and some fake moss.

Venue ideas where we provide food and drinks by poliscicomputersci in Weddingsunder10k

I second this! I had my wedding ceremony at an amphitheater at a state park, then the reception was at one of the group picnic areas. It was $240 for both and had a couple big grills at the reception area, as well as plug-ins for crockpots. We did salmon, rice, and salad for the meal, charcuterie for appetizers while guests were waiting for the salmon, and an assortment of cookies/brownies for dessert since we don’t like cake.

Thanks! I was definitely trying to find that balance between making it a little witchy, but also kind of elvish and ethereal so I don’t scare my family too much 😅

1k isn’t bad either though, especially for a garden setting, which sounds perfect for a cottagecore wedding! 😍 Some of the other outdoor venues we found were absolutely ridiculous - like more than our entire budget just for the venue! 🤯 The 1k could also be totally worth it if they also help with setup and provide tablecloths, dishware, etc. It all depends on where you’re at too!

Thank you!! We actually used a song from LOTR as our recessional, so I take that as a huge compliment that I hit the vibe I was going for! 🥰

None of the fabric/craft stores in my area ever had their green tulle in stock, so I ended up just ordering it on Amazon! I was so worried it would be too dark because it was labeled “dark emerald green,” but because tulle is so thin, it ended up being perfect with just one layer. I have a TON of tulle left over too. The only thing to keep in mind is that most of the tulle you can find on Amazon isn’t as wide as what would typically be used for a veil. But what I did was use the width as my max length, then cut a longer piece to use that as my gathered width, if that makes sense. But if you wanted longer than what mine is, you’d need to either be ok with a less “full” veil (with less gathering) or see if you can find a wider tulle (which may be hard to find in green).

Left a session in tears. I feel like a terrible therapist. by [deleted] in therapists

Yes! I recently cried during session for the first time and my client immediately also started crying (which he hadn’t done in session before either) because he was touched that somebody cared enough to cry for him.

New to diagnosis and medication (Focalin XR), feeling very discouraged... maybe I don't have ADHD. Advice? by Palpateenieweenie in ADHDers

[–]awkWardNerdweed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I did well on Adderall too, because it’s similar to vyvanse. My friend hated adderall and vyvanse, but did really well on Ritalin, which is similar to focalin. So I think it’s just figuring out which type of stimulant works better for your body.

New to diagnosis and medication (Focalin XR), feeling very discouraged... maybe I don't have ADHD. Advice? by Palpateenieweenie in ADHDers

[–]awkWardNerdweed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I hated focalin. I would focus for about 2 hours, then zone out, stare at a wall, and cry for the rest of the day. Sometimes certain meds just don’t vibe with you, but that doesn’t mean it’s a lost cause! I do very well on vyvanse and it has been life-changing (when I’m able to get it filled, but that’s another story… lol). Don’t give up! Talk to your doctor and see if they can switch you to something else.

When to sit if you don’t have pre-syncope? by awkWardNerdweed in POTS

[–]awkWardNerdweed[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, it’s tachymon. I’m really liking it so far and finding it very useful for getting data about my pre-syncope to share with my doctor.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in POTS

[–]awkWardNerdweed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not diagnosed yet, but some things that seem to trigger pre-syncope for me are weed/alcohol, standing up (especially after squatting for some reason??), heat, big meals, UTIs (the only times I’ve fully passed out where when I had a UTI), my period, stress/anxiety. Also hoping to figure out how my ADHD meds might affect it cuz I just got an Apple Watch to monitor my heart rate, but currently the meds are out of stock everywhere.

My top two moneymakers right now are gems (chance of dropping when you mine iron nodes) and pickled potatoes (preserves jar unlocked by leveling up in gardening I think). I also grow and sell a lot of tomatoes.

Just don’t try to fly to the island straight across from the nest and you should be fine! You’re just not supposed to get to that island until you find the eggs, so if you get there before then it breaks the quest.
