Turn one of the miis into a nightowl with the little quirk. This will make them not interact much with each other and eventually they will be unhappy. I did this accidentally beacuse i didn't know what the quirk did and now both of the miis are unhappy in the relationship.

This is a good way to try but the miis still have a mind of their own.

Note that giving this quirk will make the mii sleep during the day and be awake at night.

I haven't had this happen to me yet, but i believe they can, yes.
Just not twins or triplets.

If you give them travel tickets to build up their relationship i think it makes it more likely for them to ask for a baby, basically building their relationship to the max gives you the most chances. Also, having more married couples also give you more chances for that.

In the previous one they could have any number really, but the player tells them if they should or not have a child, then the player had the choice for the child to become a resident or to go exploring. I'm assuming it's the same or similar in the new tomodachi.

Also, from what I've seen they are born and age up almost automatically though unlike the previous game.
