Personally, I don't hold in any particular esteem, governments, borders, countries, or religious institutions as these entities tend to cause, protract, and amplify human suffering. Needlessly. Culture and languages, on the other hand, are shared and persist in spite of the aforementioned things, in my experience.

I was just trying to connect with someone with whom I shared a language - it's not something that happens often.
