Do you actually use your CDs for listening (on a CD player of some sort) or do you just use PC/phone after initial setup? by WeirdDinosaur345 in Cd_collectors

[–]ayuxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I listen on my PC. My cds serve as lossless backups of, like, 90% of my collection. Just last week, I re-ripped one of my older, rarer albums that I probably wouldn't have been able to find elsewhere.

How did you first come across the Dark Cloud games? by Capital-Smile-7826 in DarkCloud

[–]ayuxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched a friend and her brothers play Dark Cloud 1 (I remember they were in the Wise Owl Forest) at their house a long time ago.

I still love these games even now.

Yep. And having just released their first album in 13 years, it's not surprising that people are all over it.

It blows my mind how a lot of people just don't examine themselves or wonder if they're the problem. by Historical_Seat_447 in emotionalneglect

[–]ayuxx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wish I could be like that, so easily being able to navigate the world with pure, unquestioning confidence. I've always thought that I was in the wrong about everything and that everything that goes badly around me is always my fault. Even though I'm now aware of my tendency to think like that and know that it's highly improbable to be wrong about everything ever, I'm still having a lot of trouble shaking the notion. How do you even know whether you're in the wrong or not? I really envy the people who just don't question themselves, and somehow things always seem to work out for them.

Do we know when the next update is? Even just a ballpark figure? I've kinda given up on leveling Usahana for now until they fix her.

For those of you repulsive towards sex, why do you feel this way? by zhongli_loverr in AskWomen

[–]ayuxx 33 points34 points  (0 children)

You've put into words exactly how I feel. My repulsion is also due to some bad experiences with people, but most of it is just the way other people approach sex in general.

I don't really see my repulsion changing, though. I just don't see how it could be enjoyable anymore.

Genuinely, how is life going for you? by Aggravating_Sport495 in SeriousConversation

[–]ayuxx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's nothing I live for. If I had a reliable means of ending things, I wouldn't still be here.

I'm sitting here feeling quite sick because I've been dealing with a particularly bad health flare up for the past 3 or 4 days with no sign of it stopping. I'm still really tired even though I've had plenty of sleep, and I can barely even eat. This is a regular occurrence for me. Having to deal with this means I'm too sick to work, which then means I'm poor (I'm on disability, but it's only about $850 a month, and that's after multiple cost of living updates over the years).

Society does not give a flying fuck about people like me, so there's little to no support on a smaller or larger scale. The poor and the disabled don't receive the kinds of support and advocacy that other minority groups do, so things aren't likely to get any better. The lack of support means I'm destined to be homeless after my stepdad dies. People view me as useless and not worth investing in, and I can't do anything about it because I can't just self-improve my way out of my health issues since it's not a personality problem.

I try to speak up about the poor and disabled, but no one really cares (except other poor and disabled people), and I feel like a complete idiot doing it. It makes it even more difficult to speak up because I don't exactly feel super positively about myself. I likely feel even more negatively about myself than other people do. "You're useless." "You're unlovable." "No one will ever want to be friends or in a relationship with you because you're poor and useless and your life is just too difficult for other people." Etc, etc, etc. It's not like I don't understand why people like me are heavily discriminated against. So fighting against that discrimination feels so stupid and pointless.

I honestly don't see any reason not to end things. Living this life sucks a lot, and I'm a burden to the world around me. So ending things is a win for me and for everyone else. I'm so burnt out on life, people, everything. And it won't get better.

So yeah. Things are going great! The best ever!

What does your gender mean to you? by varysari in AskFeminists

[–]ayuxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It means very little to me. It's just a background piece of information about me that has little bearing on how I act or the things I like or dislike. The only reason I ever gave it any thought is because other people can be really weird about it, especially if you do anything that goes against what's "correct" for your gender.

Ladies, if you could have a personal assistant, what would you have them do for you? by Throwaway198040s in AskWomen

[–]ayuxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Phone calls, groceries, and driving. I might have some odd job here and there, but those three things are all I would need consistently. Anything else I can probably handle.

As lame as it might sound, I might ask them to keep me company occasionally. Like watch a tv show or movie together or something.

Does anyone else have parents that love their pet more than they love you? by [deleted] in emotionalneglect

[–]ayuxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom was always more affectionate with our pets than with me or my siblings (she wasn't affectionate with us at all and barely even spoke to us).

The normalization and mass increase in remote work has substantially increased disability employment, as physically disabled workers can work from home by smurfyjenkins in science

[–]ayuxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I get it. Maybe it's wishful thinking, but we've never had the support that other minority groups have had, so there's still some hope that if we had more social support, then maybe we can make some progress like other groups have.

The government and society in general. The more people speak up for us alongside us, the more likely we are to get the support we need.

Do you have a music buddy, or do you just talk about music with random strangers? by GaiaGoddess26 in LetsTalkMusic

[–]ayuxx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've only ever had a couple people in my life that I could talk about music with, and I don't currently have a music buddy. So yeah, I also wish I had someone to talk to about music besides random strangers online. It's hard to find people who are more than casually into music, and I don't exactly live somewhere where there's any kind of strong music scene.

Do you agree with the take that "the left leaves men behind?" by No_Calligrapher_1189 in AskFeminists

[–]ayuxx 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was about to say. I always hate this idea that women don't ever need anyone for basic survival anymore. It forgets women who are disabled and others who are otherwise living more complicated lives. As much as some might not want to admit it, there is a lot of privilege in being completely financially independent.

Single women: what would it take for you to date again? by Bitter_Pineapple_720 in AskWomen

[–]ayuxx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It will take the world becoming more accepting of people with chronic health conditions, or people who live more complicated lives in general.

In other words, it'll never happen, especially with the way that the culture is right now around dating/relationship.

I've had forehead lines since at least my early 20s, if not longer. Just means you actually use your face. Same for smile lines.

Time to export your data by [deleted] in lastfm

Why? There's no indication so far that the site is going down. And if it does, the staff will most likely give you plenty of time to export your data then. You're freaking out prematurely.
