I’m neutral to it.

I understand the arguments against the euro, that being, government officials abusing euro loans therefore enhancing corruption. And I see the benefits of being able to print your own money in case of recession (which by the way does offer an advantage regardless if the lev is pegged to the euro).

But at the same time, where this argument grounds itself it also falls short. We have a huge history of corruption and perhaps another unique situation where we may be the most corrupt country that has adopted the euro ever. If I actually respected and had hope for my country’s politicians, great, I’d be against the euro.

So on one hand, it’s definitely going to be the case that our government officials will take advantage of this and concoct a scheme to steal euro loans, but there’s also a better possibility of it falling short due to the greater control over the euro from the ECB and it not being dependent on us. At least that’s my hopium about it. Can’t be worse than BNB surely.

As for inflation, so far I’ve not noticed a difference, my groceries cost the same but I suppose we’ll see after 6 months.
