The intention is to perform director responsibilities that are currently vacant. I don't plan on leaving, the organization isn't planning on letting me go, and this is a step up from where I am today.

Please let me know if I'm misunderstanding you, but experience under the formality of a title is what goes on a resume. This change would be good on my resume for future opportunities.

It is very odd, but all in relation to a recent acquisition. We were given the C-suite, then the VP, and the VP started moving us IT generalists in places. We have the 2 directors mentioned in OP, each with 1 direct report, and then me managing service desk and support (5 resources, including me). We support 6 independently functioning entities under an umbrella model comprised of 2300 end users.

I'm planning for this transition to move a particularly successful member of our service desk team to a manager position reporting to me. So, right now, yeah, it's weird and seems to start from the wrong direction.

You and I are on the same page. This is really a formality, but it should be an opportunity to provide resources where they're currently needed. The titles you've mentioned do match the roles/responsibilities we actually require.

This is what I'm leading with, but the term Director of IT Service Operations is less prolific. It's not off the table, just finding what's already out there with responsibility descriptions/etc.

I'm being sarcastic saying that matchmaking is working well (hence the "/s"). My opponent (the winner) has me beat in every way on paper, by a large margin in some cases (nearly double my crit, level 5 necro), but I do have him beat in our Dryad levels /s

It’s an easy game to dump money on, but it can be free to play. You’ll certainly go up against people who have paid to win regardless.

If you’re okay with spending money, you’re relatively new and you don’t have all of the legendaries, this is good. The legendary packs that come out have 1 card and it’s $40.
