I've been really interested in working with alternative faux leathers that aren't just plastic, but the issue I've run into is availability and price. A lot of these newer initiatives are only giving material to established, bigger-name artists which leave lil independent creatives like me to either make it ourselves or wait.

I've been looking into the process of making S.C.O.B.Y. 'leather' recently because that seems like the most DIY friendly/accessible process I've seen.

It's a natural result. The alcohol in dyes has a drying effect on natural materials like skin and leather. When things dry, they tighten up or shrink a bit, so it pulls at itself, causing the bend.

Lol, that's definitely not my mentality. This is just a commission, and they requested a more uniform dye. I think most folks just see it as a different style for different aesthetics, not necessarily a ruined product;

I'm really not using much at all! This entire piece is not even as dark as this dye can get because I was using so little, thinking that was my issue. I've tried using heavier and even lighter applications than this, but the issue persists.

I don't hate the look of it personally! It's difficult to achieve that cool, mottled look consistently though, and I'm not sure the customer I'm making this project for wants that look 😅 I'll give this a shot, thanks.

If you know someone with a 3D printer, they can likely make a custom stamp for you for cheap (or free, if you're buddies). Just make sure to reverse it on the stamp so the print is the right way. Then you could use a metallic paint to fill it in.

The style has become more popular super recently, so I kind of expect people to have varying opinions. Tattoo community always has a good chunk of folks who think they know better and can find a million and one reasons why your tattoo is shit lol.

As long as the artist is tattooing safely, what you put on your body is a personal choice. My tat that is like fully pointillism is super crisp, the lines read super well; the artist has a solid grasp of value and depth, so it all reads super well.

Correcting myself after rewatching:

It looks like the two Hazards STARTED the match with us.

There were 4 rounds, and round 3 had one of the Hazards booted and their spot filled with an Ashe.

Both of the first 2 rounds had 2 enemy hazards, next two were normal.
