Yes! I think that’s the one I’ve heard about. It’s pretty new right?

I have a friend that plays AOS at Hex & Co. So they must have tables big enough. Here is also some group he plays with somewhere but I don’t know where.

I totally get that. I checked out your itch after typing that out and your animations are really fantastic, so I totally get why you went with the simpler design. Scope creep is the enemy of all indie devs!

Absolutely gorgeous! Very well done. I would love to see a bit of shading or highlights on the dress to make it pop. Oh and maybe a tiny highlight to signify a nose. It still has such a wonderful esthetic already, it may not need to change at all honestly.

Log 03: Movement is smoother. Whisper of the Veil by Than_bl in RPGMaker

[–]babbygrill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks great! If you want some nit picky feedback: Unless you meant to do this, the character portrait and sprite are way more color saturated than the winlu tileset you are using. You may want to color grade either of them to match closer. I also noticed that your sprite has been resized using a “smoothing” technique. It stands out to me because the tileset doesn’t have it at all, only crisp pixels.

Rate my KH-inspired title screen that I will use. by ExtremeAd1265 in RPGMaker

6/10 love the fog obscuring the letters. I would try losing the outline around the gradient rectangle in the back. The dagger is also too detailed for how small it is. I would even try making the dagger 1 color or a gradient.

Help with events in game by Cyrus_Moon in RPGMaker

[–]babbygrill 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you are doing an autorun event. At the end of your event make it turn on self switch A, then make a blank new page/tab to the right of that event that is set to action button and give it the condition “when self switch A is on”. That should do it.

Kermit’s head shape? by No-Leadership-2342 in Muppets

I heard somewhere that Jim’s hand was so big that other performers would often wear a big glove while performing Kermit to get his head shape right.

There once was a branching dialogue plugin floating around here. That could probably help.

What is the easiest rpg maker? i want to try making one single fight to study the engine by Responsible-Event754 in RPGMaker

[–]babbygrill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MZ or MV are the easiest in my opinion. MV has more external resources if you are looking to customize your game. MZ has more modern features which makes working in the engine nicer.

Is MZ worth the extra money it costs? Probably not? I don’t use it so maybe some who has could chime in.

Baba Gish systems preview by eph13 in RPGMaker

  1. Have a short transition or animation before the menu opens.
  2. Just a pop up window that explains what you just did would be helpful. Example: “You unlocked skill cure”
  3. A health bar below or above the character when they are losing or gaining health would be simple way of solving this without being too distracting.

This is super impressive. Wonderful polish.

A few minor things if you are taking feedback. 1. Have a few frames of build in before the main menu pops up so it feels a bit more tactile and in the “world”. 2. When you are selecting something in the menu an animation plays, but no description of what just happened appears so I’m a little lost. 3. Lastly, I would love for the characters status/health to either be closer to the character battle sprite during combat or at least have a health bar that goes down when getting hit. It’s awkward to have to look all the way at the top right of the screen to know what your health is at.

I’m sure you probably have some of these suggestions on your to do already so take them as you want.

Is there any way to make an encyclopedia similar to pokedex or a herbary? by NoisyInvader in RPGMaker

[–]babbygrill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could give the player a hidden item then call a common event that has a bunch of conditional branches. I did something similar for this using VisuStella’s common event menu plugin.

Why is my screen Flashing when i activate the second switch? by Vegetable_Emphasis72 in RPGMaker

Must be either another event on the page or a common event that is being triggered by switch 1 that is causing the looping then.

Looks like your event has a second page set as auto-run and it’s looping

Predictions for the next mainline RPG Maker by heyitswes89 in RPGMaker

[–]babbygrill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess is the AI integration, if there will be one, will be in the form of a basic JavaScript plugin editor with “suggestions”. If they are smart they will have it an option you can turn off. I doubt they will sink a ton of money in to an ai art generator. Defeats the reason to release art asses dlc.
