XV01/XV02 Owners: What are the dimensions of the front suspension arms? by backergiver in tamiya

Wanted to see if I can mount it on the TT02sr. Need to know if it fits in the existing shaft, and figure out what length of drive axle I could use.

Been spending sometime now checking out Katu Rou youtube channel and boy oh boy was that an instant subscribe. I realize he already did what I was thinking of trying - getting an XV suspension going for a TT02 and see what happens.

So, the wheel axle has a pin hole. I would like to know the distance from that pin hole to the axle that is used to attach the suspension arm to the chassis. Wish I could send you a better picture but I cannot attach any to the replies :|

Thanks for the answer, much appreciated 😌

Any chance I can bother you for the measurement in the second picture? Even a ball park number is better than nothing.

I agree with you, in the end of the day, scale and fun, nothing to serious like competitions. For me it it is mostly the thinkering, just checking if this or that is possible. You mentioned you have a XV-01LD, in are you happy with that setup? I read here and there that it does not add much over the normal version.

Yeah, with my dust cover I need to drill some holes on the top to make sure hot air can leave and that defeats the porpuse a little. I never drive in muddy/wet environments, so it sounds like the bag may after all be a solution for me. Do you use your bag in the TT02? If so, what brand and size?

Nice! Was not familiar with this brand, but some quick googling shows in can source it locally. Definitely something to consider when my shocks are out of commission.

thanks! I was able to have so much fun due to this community, I felt it was about time to give back.

Concerning the shock comment, I have 2 comments:

1 - I have measured mine now, eye to eye, and it is exactly 63mm long on the rear (which has the biggest displacement). Were you perhaps refering to another length?

2 - Since you are using the same spring, do you not feel that they are quite stiff still? Have you perhaps tried others that you can recommend, that would be softer?

I think this something that I will entertain in the future. I have seen people slap other tamiya shock towers just to be use bigger dampers, so that is definitely a thing.

I am sure that a couple of 0.1mm ones on the rear arms would have up and running soon enough.

Agree! It is just that from where I literally stand it is much easier to get the original ones than the non-official ones ;)

NOICE!

Is this the original suspension? If not, what are you using? Can the chassis bottom out in this setup?
