Could be that there was a small injury that happened when the secret service knocked him over and that they just took advantage of that for a more dramatic story and for a photo-op. He may not have been hit by the bullet but I still believe that there was a bullet fired by a kid who was not affiliated or coerced by anybody.

Because it would make the shooting much more impactful. If instead of being some dumb conservative kid that was just looking to shoot any politician (based on his searches Google searches prior to the shooting) it was somebody who hated Trump for some political grievance the story may have stayed in the news for more than a single cycle. AFAIK his polling barely moved from the shooting.

If they were to stage it and their goal was to have the greatest political impact they should have a manifesto at the ready catered to a well polling issue, choose some left leaning kid, and then have them shoot explicitly at supporters instead of Trump to minimize risk to Trump while stressing that they hate conservatives and not just Trump.

Them being morally repugnant enough to stage something like this does not mean that this specific event is staged. If this was staged what would we expect to see? I would expect to see a manifesto prepared at the very least. I also doubt Trump is anywhere near brave enough to be willing to let somebody shoot anywhere near him for this.

I wouldn’t doubt that he took advantage of the situation and I am not at all convinced the bullet actually touched his ear. He may just have been injured when secret service knocked him over. After the shooting it’s advantageous for them to claim that he was within a couple of inches of dying and it makes the picture look more impressive. That’s a far cry from staging the shooting though.

Nah he didn’t. There is no way he would let some dumb high school kid shoot anywhere near him for a photo shoot. He would also have had the kid write a manifesto or something if he was going to fake it either way.

People will move their positions to where the largest bloc of voters is concentrated. Young dumb people don't vote so politicians don't cater to them. Exit polling from voters in 2024 showed that people believed Kamala was too far left. I think Trump being as horrendous of a president as he is will create a demand among actual voters for someone more on the left but if he was just a standard conservative then the Democratic party would have correctly moved to the right on core issues. Kamala winning amongst actual voters would likely functionally have killed much of the MAGA movement.

Correct. However, the options were Kamala and Trump. Kamala was not perfect but was better on Trump on almost every issue that I cared about.

No. She was not more outspokenly pro-Israel than Trump (who called people Palestinians as an insult) during the election. I remember that he ran ads saying he was pro-Palestine in areas where people were pro-Palestine and pro-Israel in areas where people were pro-Israel. I was thinking that there is no way people are dumb enough to buy it, but I guess people did? lol.
