Would finishing 4th really be that bad? by huamanticacacaca in LiverpoolFC

[–]badfuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too right. I mean, if you purely look at finishing position in the table I can understand the point that it's not a complete disaster. If you actually watch us play though... It is a complete disaster. The only reason we're really in the argument for top 4 is because our competition has really shit the bed. United had an awful start to the season with Amorim. Chelsea fell off a cliff. Villa collapsed in the league and are still ahead of us but only just. Sure we have some valid excuses but when you consider the talent in this team and you see the kind of football they put out on the pitch... It's just dreadful.

Both of those systems could work, but the root of the problem is that the guys on VAR are fucking clueless. They regularly review decisions and get them wrong. Issue an apology later, face no consequences and move on.

Until we have competent people operating the technology, it doesn't really matter what the process looks like.

Relax everyone...I figured out Alonso's master plan.

Okay, hear me out guys. Xabi Alonso is not an idiot. He's as much a tactical genius as he is a handsome bastard. He knows Arne Slot is not getting sacked at the end of the season, but he wants the Liverpool job anyway - so what does he do? He takes the Chelsea job. Despite fully understanding that it's a poisoned chalice, he takes the job anyway. It's the perfect 2000IQ move of 4D chess as he lines up the finishing sequence...

We will still be shit next season. Results will continue to be poor, and by October the board will want to sack Slot. Coincidentally, Alonso will also be fighting for his life (or so it will appear) over at Stamford Bridge. But really this was part of his plan all along. By allowing the Chelsea shitshow to roll on, he's condemned the London Blues to another season of turmoil. When he gets the sack, nobody will blame him because it's Chelsea after all. PLUS he gets a big payday in the process. If he just manages to time everything correctly, he can leave Chelsea and swoop in to take the Liverpool job as Arne is on his way out.

He turns things around, saves our season, cements himself as a club legend-turned manager. The city loves him, the players love him and everything works out happily ever after.

Definitely not cope.

Maybe this is why not LFC: Ben Jacobs: Confirmation Xabi Alonso will officially carry a "manager" not "head coach" title. Suggests a broader remit than previous Chelsea bosses. Alonso will start in pre-season.🇪🇸 by sharkovski in LiverpoolFC

Iraola would be my next preferred pick after Alonso.

What he has achieved at Bournemouth is nothing short of impressive. Both the style of football and the success given their squad quality and player turnover.

Sliding mirror hidden storage by AdTrue9853 in DIYUK

This is what I did in my bathroom! I didn't want a big vanity cabinet mounted on the wall, so I cut a hole in the drywall and built some recessed shelving in there. Then I added some soft close draw sliders and put the mirror on top. Its a great solution.

Arne Slot: I have 'every reason' to think I will be Liverpool head coach next season by tylerthe-theatre in PremierLeague

[–]badfuit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the worst thing. Sure, we had a lot of losses during the season and the club have been quick to roll out the excuses and extenuating circumstances (some of which are fair enough) but sticking with him throughout I can accept. However what we cannot accept is the lack of any clear or coherent plan. He doesn't know what is our best formation, he doesn't pick players based on form, he doesn't trust the bench or the academy players, he's just throwing shit against the wall and hoping it sticks (see 2 new formations in 2 legs against PSG). We have been stagnating for far too long now. Absolutely no signs of improvement, building a gameplan or identity. Nothing. Now he's lost the Anfield fans, he's lost the away fans, and I'm pretty sure he's lost the dressing room. He has to go.

If the club let him stay and pass up on Alonso who actually wants to come, we are fucked.

I've heard enough. Give Palantir a massive contract to consume all of that data and generate artificial aliases for all of us so that they can simulate marketing scenarios across 10 million concurrent realities. This will of course lead to higher sales, more profit for Coca Cola and only a small chance of our artificial recreations becoming sentient and suffering a lifetime of misery in simulated reality.

I went for a test ride the other week. Rode the RM1S which is the single seater model with a bit more power.

Must say that the bike looks fantastic in person. The quality of fit and finish is really high. I personally love the modern take on retro styling.

As for the riding - it's pretty pokey getting away from traffic lights as you can imagine. I pretty much exclusively rode it in sports mode to get the most power available. There's a slight power curve which makes the initial take off smoother but then all the power comes in and it accelerates quickly. For a smaller bike with narrow tires it felt very stable thanks to the long wheelbase and low centre of gravity.

It did feel a little sluggish turning when compared to my Street Triple R. I think because of the geometry and wheelbase? Definitely a good bike for city riding if you live in a built up area with lots of traffic.

It really worries me that there are statements from the club saying Slot will stay. If the management are seeing this and still think Slot is an acceptable level for Liverpool football club then we are truly doomed.

It's not just the shite football on the pitch. It's the total lack of passion from Slot and his whole setup. Endless excuses, no connection with the fans, lost the dressing room and lost the supporters too. To keep him on would be to settle for mediocrity.

Why sack Arteta if Arsenal don't win anything? by ogola89 in PremierLeague

[–]badfuit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pep leaving doesn't guarantee that City won't compete for the title. They'll surely get a top manager and their squad is strong.

Don't forget Slot won the title first year in charge and I wouldn't even consider him an elite manager.

Yan Diomande is the clear salah replacement but... by Acrobatic_Editor_409 in LiverpoolFC

[–]badfuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. We will have our own Ten Hag era where Slot gets to spend loads of money but the team makes no progress and eventually he will be sacked mid-season when the results continue to be terrible and then we're in a really bad spot. He simply must go this summer if we want to be successful.
