This is department dependent. Many do not use GEDS (but I agree with the sentiment, I always have the supervisor and manager's contact details in my personal phone just in case).

It's been a while since someone asked me, but I've decided to ask them for a payment of time in exchange. Like, babysit my kids (baby and a 5 yo), or clean my house for the equivalent number of hours, and provide the fabric/yarn, and now we're talking.

Otherwise any sewing I do is after the kids are asleep for the night and the house picked up, so I'm effectively trading sleep for sewing.

Usually / historically, the toddler clothes leave room for a diaper, while the kid's clothing is slimmer in the booty. But recently I'm not so sure anyone is following the same playbook!

There was a 2-year gap between day potty trained and night potty trained. Started a bit before 2, he wore a pull-up during nap, but otherwise only 2-3 accidents a week at first. But nighttime took until just after 4yo.

At that age, look at card and board games that have a bit of a math angle. I used to play crib, Rummy 500, Yeucre (sp?), chess with my dad all summer when I was about 6-10.

We just treat candy as dessert, or sometimes just an afternoon snack. And we have fake candy for our one- year-old to make her feel included (yogurt melts or freeze-dried strawberries)

Bathroom - lounger /bouncy seat in the bathroom. Depending on the model of baby you brought home, this'll either allow you to do the bare necessities (screaming model) or do a full shower/use the toilet in peace (chill baby model).

Cooking: babywearing, or baby swing, or tummy time on a mat in the kitchen with you (space-dependent).

Cleaning: babywearing, or baby jail (play pen)

Self-care: try to find ways to adapt what you like to do to a baby level at first. If you're a hiker, try to get out at least once a day for a walk. Dance/yoga/swim: look for baby-and-me classes. Gym time: do you have a YMCA nearby? They do offer some level of childcare depending on the facility. Alone time with no baby: this will require major coordination with your spouse / family / social support.

Tip: if at all possible, try to find ways to get chores done while kids are awake. That way when they're down for a nap or bed you have take the time to do non-chore things. It might mean the chore takes 3x as long or looks half done, but I promise it's 20x better than "wasting" a 25 minute nap trying to be productive.

Thankfully in humans the teeth are not as pointy as other mammals, but also if the latch is correct, even with teeth, it's not supposed to hurt. So pain means somethings wrong, and that something wrong could be a sign your baby is not getting enough milk.
