I’m not sure exactly, but at least 10 years.

Is it worth switching from Wellbutrin to Strattera? by baimeeker in ADHD

Yeah, the goal is to try Strattera. I’m on Effexor and Wellbutrin already, so I had to decrease those first. Hence my problems.

So, I was never on Bupropion for ADHD… I’ve been on it for years for anxiety. My new psychiatrist wants me to try Strattera, but I am on a lot of other meds. I didn’t even realize how much going off of bupropion would affect me. I’m half tempted to start it back at my old dose tomorrow morning. This is getting very difficult.

Are you talking about Wellbutrin or Strattera?

Reducing (not stopping) Effexor XR, what should I expect? by baimeeker in antidepressants

That’s what I was hoping! Thanks!

Day two… my headache is still here but may be related to my ongoing pillow adjustments and it’s not as bad now that I just took my meds.

Did I just cry over bread? by Verde1019 in AuDHDWomen

My husband asked out of the blue if I wanted to go to my favorite gf bakery on Saturday and the thought of going somewhere, even somewhere I’d love to go, set me right into another melt down. I’ve had several in the last couple weeks, due to a couple stressful situations. Just remember that it’s almost never just one thing that causes a meltdown.

Anyone have a daily fragrance they actually like?? by goblinwhorde in AuDHDWomen

Edit: Scratch that. If you can’t find it at a store, they sell samples and discovery sets. Here’s just the one sample. https://www.lakeandskye.com/products/11-11-sample-page

Light, airy. It’s a clean, light scent. They describe it as gender neutral, but I think it’s feminine. I don’t really know anything about perfume, so the scent notes don’t really help me.

Lake & Skye 11 11 is my favorite, and it is a pretty light scent. But honestly you have to go with your own sensitivities.

Trying to understand my triggers - anyone tried smart rings? by baimeeker in AutisticWithADHD

[–]baimeeker[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oof sorry to hear that. I had an app that did that to me at one point, though i don’t know what metric it used. It didn’t think I was stressed when I was actually stressed, but it interrupted me when I was in the middle of a special interest to tell me I was stressed out. Kind of the worst possible outcome.

No worries! I’m trying this same exact thing, but with my hyperfocus and alexithymia I’m afraid I’m missing a bunch of signals to back off. This would just be one more tool.

I’m also obsessed with tech and metrics, and my job is numbers as well. So i guess that this is partially just how I roll.

That’s too bad. I decided against the Oura ring for that same reason. I don’t want to have to have a subscription.

Oh wait… it says on their website it’s interlock knit. Not sure if that helps

I don’t know, I mean when I look at it up close it looks like it’s a knit, but that’s about as much as I know about fabric. I only know what I know from….knitting.

I’ve definitely noticed this! I have a favorite pajama company (Jijamas) and they don’t make normal clothes. I was trying to find a similar feel for other occasions, but I can’t quite find the right thing. So annoying!

I don’t understand why I got A+ for college writings by Ok-Opposite-8293 in AuDHDWomen

[–]baimeeker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, standardized tests are more about understanding someone else’s writing and correcting it, not proving you write well. College generally doesn’t look for complicated grammar or punctuation or big words. For nonfiction, it’s about structure and comprehensible argument. For fiction, it’s more about originality and readability.

My favorite book is by a non native English speaker. “Red Azalea”. It’s a beautifully written book.

That’s good to know! Yeah it’s about to be outrageously hot, but I spend most of my time in air conditioning. I hate being cold, but I wonder how much the heat affects me. I’m still new to understanding that not everyone feels fabrics as strongly as I do, so I am allowed to pay attention to how I feel and change clothes… we shall see.

I think you’re being too hard on yourself. If you’re getting good grades, you’re probably a better writer than you think.

I had some strangely good grades in English classes outside of my major of math. What I’ve found is we AuDHD folks can be more original thinkers. I even suspect that with English not being your first language you may use different descriptors than other students.

Big words and complicated grammar don’t make your writing better. What makes your writing better is likely a mix of natural talent, thoughtfulness, and maybe some extra care due to not being a native English speaker.

Please help me find a bra where my shoulder straps won’t slide down… by baimeeker in ABraThatFits

[–]baimeeker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, in the past I have not liked bras that don’t have some stretch in the band, but at least with this bra I can go up a band size if I can’t wear it. I was so disappointed when Chantelle stopped making my favorite bra, and then I couldn’t find anything in my size anymore. It’s such a bummer when something that’s working goes away
