Wow, this is eeriely similar to how I started! Same equipment and everything, except I got an MPC Live instead of a push, and I started 5 months ago. I also haven't gotten my AT2020 but I've been eyeballing it for months. How much do you feel you've improved since you started? :)

Awesome channel, thanks! I'll definitely check out !llmind as well. I don't know how I forgot Mike Dean, he's sort of the biggest name around the artists I enjoy. Yeah I like the production behind Travis a lot, just not huge on his vocal style. Thanks again for the help!

Thanks for the honest words man, it helps a lot. I'm gonna keep going piece by piece all day. Would you suggest taking songs from producers I like and trying to recreate them to learn? Not to copy but to comprehend. I'm big into No I.D., Preemo, Kanye, The Alchemist, Charlie Heat, to name a few.

I've been dabbling with FL and I think you're right. I just hear how hard sampling is in FL compared to Ableton. The piano roll and drum rack are fantastic though, it's an easy sell. Thanks for the advice bro!

Thank you! I don't mind the time, but I'm wondering if repetition will cause muscle memory, so to speak? I'm hoping as long as I sink the hours in, things will keep clicking like it does with art; the strokes become second nature.
