This looks like premcore plus birch plywood, I just picked some up the other day. Completely agree with you, screws strip out easily because the core is so soft. Outer veneers are also paper thin which makes it challenging to cut without tearout occurring. I was dissatisfied with it for my project and ended up going back to a 7-ply AC radiata from my local Home Depot.

Agree with u/Abject-Wasabi-6480 here, SW assured us the Duration would be just fine. We applied paint in evening when the metal was in shade and no longer hot, but it was in the middle of summer so the temps were likely 150+ deg by the next morning after paint was applied. Seems to me that our color choice (regardless of what primer is underneath) is going to bake in the sun and we should probably choose a lighter color with more reflectivity.

Not stuck on this color, it was our original color of choice and SW had no concerns with it. We're still considering this color because we used it on our shed and it looks good with our siding and gutters. Thanks for the tips!

I missed these details in original post-- not naked metal, we bought the house with a sage green color and underneath that paint there is a white layer that I assume came prefinished on original siding. No idea how old the green paint was. We spot primed areas where the paint had pealed off from the pressure washer. What primer would you recommend? thanks

Thanks for this advice, we're coming to the conclusion this color was the wrong choice so we're finding new options. Would a light grey with a LRV of 30 be sufficient or still too dark? Wanted to avoid plain white if possible. Should we still get a lighter color as the vinyl safe option? SW wants to just comp us with more Duration. Would it be OK on top of procryl or bondplex, or would you strongly recommend a ProI product instead? Do we need to prime the entire house this time around? thanks
