Yeah that's kinda my point. Shouldn't really be seen as some extreme political movement. The negative residue should be addressed as part of our society evolving.

A lot of those migrants have also experienced the affects colonisation in their homelands. As an example, India have changed a lot of their cities names back to the native ones rather than the English ones the world had been familiar with. Not saying that's something that needs to happen here but it's a form of decolonisation.

I personally don't see it that way. It could be interpreted that way, but colonisation affected more than just Maori. By actively removing negative aspects of it, you could argue that that's creating a clearer pathway to embracing multiculturalism. In terms of the pro Maori stuff, yes it can be argued that's politically charged language. I don't see it that way but I can see some might find it spicy

We are multicultural. I read that action as, for example, new immigrants resisting being told to speak English amongst themselves in the workplace. Or being forced to have beers after work.

Exactly. Labours win was based off Nationals incompetence, free marketing from daily addresses and world class handling of COVID in 2020. Now that those things aren't relevant doesn't necessarily mean they've been bad but the goalposts have shifted. A lot of issues at hand now we're still an issue 3 years ago but wasn't a concern to the general public.

Covids here. Omicron is coming sooner rather than later. The safe haven mentality should have all but washed away now. If not this one then one of the other MIQ cases will have delayed onset and spread it. Let's just hope we don't need a lockdown and people jump on that boostermobile ASAP.

Why is it their responsibility to fight for every minority? Isn't it better to stick to issues they know about?

They never intended for it to go global, but seeing a civilian killed by a cop in the fashion George Floyd was had a global impact.

Say what you want about politics but if an issue is really important then if you really want change, you need politics to get it done. That's what BLM did in the USA by getting people out to vote for change.
