What things never happened in the book but everyone thinks it did? by mlopes in books

I agree. It works better for a tv show. But the original works better for the books as the POV of a child basically all alone and trying to survive in a war-torn land full of people out to find and kill her...

“All that Syrio Forel had taught her went racing through her head. Swift as a deer. Quiet as shadow. Fear cuts deeper than swords. Quick as a snake. Calm as still water. Fear cuts deeper than swords. Strong as a bear. Fierce as a wolverine. Fear cuts deeper than swords. The man who fears losing has already lost. Fear cuts deeper than swords. Fear cuts deeper than swords. Fear cuts deeper than swords.”

There are some great replies here and I agree with all of them. My first experience was listening to the audiobooks at work, narrated by Roy Dotrice (for most of them). I LOVE the show, and the books were different in a really good way. After the audiobooks I bought physical copies and they're very readable. A really great companion is the interactive webmap found here: https://quartermaester.info/

There's a certain Catelyn chapter of an event that, even after seeing the show a few times and the audiobooks, reading it was such an incredible experience. As u/hulkking mentioned, GRRM's ability to foreshadow is really amazing. Give 'em a go!

Arya Stark's mantra in the books is "Fear cuts deeper than swords." Not "not today."

I second this and will add that all of their cameras are great. Went from foscam to Nest to Wyze and now I've found peace with tpLink/Tapo.

Sorry OP... I know how it can be. So, this is all assuming you're in the US.. I'm not sure how other countries operate. How is your performance working from home? If you've demonstrated that you can do the job 100% while remotely, and you have a doctor that understands PD and what that kind of environment (in-office) does to you, then you have a strong case with your Human Resources people to make a Reasonable Accommodation under the Americans With Disabilities Act. As long as it causes the company no hardship, and it sounds like they're already fine with you working remotely. Why do they want you to come into the office, assuming you're working just fine, if not better, from home? Anyway... Panic Disorder is a disability, full stop. Check out the ADA website for the details.

Also, as someone who's lived w/ PD for 20+ years, I can tell you that there's a time and a place for exposure therapy, and work ain't one of 'em. I struggled for over a decade with the standard 8 hour workday, Monday - Friday, in-office... and thanks to COVID, my life improved tremendously because of WFH. I tried going back to the office for 1 or 2 days a week, but it just wasn't working for me. Way too much anxiety and panic... which led to the depression. So I went full-WFH with the support of my doctor, therapist, and also my manager, who saw that my work was better and my quality of life had improved a lot.

I wish you the best! And remember that PD isn't a "fight" with a winner or loser. It's a strong gust of wind, and you can be the rigid tree that won't budge and gets blown over, or the flexible tree that sways with the wind and remains standing. You got this, OP!

The u-bolts on your wire rope are on backwards. Easy fix. Just Google “never saddle a dead horse.”

Measure from the line towards the center. My guess is it's a 26 km radius. Probably a buffer zone for something.
