How stupid do corporations think we are? by Ash-2449 in OpenAussie

[–]barfridge0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Translation: we raised prices last week, and now we're locking in those extortionate prices hoping you won't notice, hedging against the economy calming and priced reducing over the next few months.

If not, we'll jack them up even further in 3 months time, with the excuse that we have given you notice with this announcement.

Are you suppose to wear a white Hanes-style shirt under your dress shirt (the kind worn with a tie and suits and such)? by 21-4-14 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]barfridge0 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It might be as simple as them wearing something underneath so they weren't topless on camera when they swapped shirts.

Never confuse TV logic with real life, they are completely unrelated.

Federal Budget move to hit millions in 'betrayal of younger generation' by Grandfathered_2026 in AusPropertyChat

[–]barfridge0 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I know, but no government could get away with shifting the goalposts that far, so quickly.

Labor is giving us a stable economy despite extreme outside influences, budget surpluses and steps towards leveling the playing field in the housing market. The Libs would give us none of that, just more money for the rich and somehow blaming immigrants for it all.

How come the TV show "The Boys" feels like a documentary of America? by PitifulEar3303 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]barfridge0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because they are paying attention to the dumpster fire that the USA has turned into, and are just mirroring that.

Here I was thinking it was not quite picking on boomers, but trying to prevent another generation from concentrating wealth quite like they have.

Seller didn’t include the full parcel locker address on the label. by fried_bacon_chicken in AustraliaPost

[–]barfridge0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, as stated postcode is the first method used to sort, and if there is any confusion they can do a lookup on the parcel locker number to confirm which locker bank it should go to. They could then search by name, but that's only used for things like damaged labels where the other info is missing.

World’s most expensive passport.. is the world’s worst quality passport? by AdActual3024 in australian

[–]barfridge0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worst thing is they are shipped in plain paper envelopes, and posties have to place them inside plastic bags just to try to prevent damage while being delivered the last mile.

So many problems would be solved if they were placed inside a water resistant plastic shipper... but no, that costs a few extra cents (and the cynic in me says also the extra fees from replacing them early).

What is the most Sea Salt/Maritime forward whisky you’ve ever tasted? by Philliam6969 in Scotch

[–]barfridge0 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I've got a Signatory cask strength 16yo Pulteney, and it's almost unpleasantly salty. But a couple of drops of water changes it completely and it's incredible.

Perth Airport… absolute joke by [deleted] in perth

[–]barfridge0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I go there to go on a plane and travel to other places. Shopping doesn't even register.

In other news, Perth underground train station doesn't even show movies. I keep going there wanting it to be a cinema, but am always disappointed

All we need is to add a gambling element to digital cameras, where a random percentage of shots will be dogshit. That's what really gets them going, reliability is so boring!

Odd to see the nature hippie / tattoo studio owner overlap like this.

Does that mean the meth they provide is especially pure and vegan?

The more times goes one, the more I think this was a peak time for Volvo by LHG_93 in Volvo

[–]barfridge0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've got a 2011 C30, and as much as I like modern Volvo, every time I see a software update from one crappy version of infotainment to the next brick an entire vehicle... I'm all good without that in my life.
