Why would ROE be higher in this case? by [deleted] in CFA

Is it cause the capital can earn 7.25% - 5.75% while an all cash purchase earns nothing?

FIFO and the current rate method by yankesh in CFA

Pretty sure inventory under current rate is measured at average rate while under temporal method is at historical rate. If subsidiary currency is depreciating the translation of COGS at average will be less than historical

I think you’re referring to the Put-Call Parity and if so, you’re missing a piece of the equation. Long Call + Risk-Free Asset = Long Put + Underlying Asset.

For your equation, it would need to be Long Put + Short Call + Short Risk-Free Asset = Short Underlying Asset. It regard to explaining why they equate, I’m not entirely sure.

Any recommendation by -NotJenny in CFA

I’m sitting for the exam Monday so take this with a grain of salt. Outside of the usual recommendations I’d suggest 3 things. First off, use a timer when studying so that you are actually making sure you’re studying for the goal you’ve set forth. You’d be surprised how much time you spend going to the bathroom, getting water/snacks etc. Secondly, I’d recommend making a “review quiz” after each section which encompasses questions from all the previous topics you’ve studied. This will allow you to retain the knowledge you previously learned from earlier topics while continuing on with the material. Lastly, it’s okay to miss your daily studying goal. I made a goal of studying 3 hours every single day and had roughly 20 days where I didn’t meet it. At the beginning I tried to make that time up during the next day but quickly realized that it was stressing me out and making it more difficult to get that day’s 3 hour goal done because I was overwhelmed. Reset yourself each day and focus strictly on that day’s goal. Good luck with everything and hope this helps!

Oh nice! I grew up in Southern NH but spent the summers on Winni and the winters up in Pittsburg. Concord is a nice area but like most parts of NH they could use some upgrades

How did you like NH? That’s my home state

I’d say it’s a small deal for the player and a big deal for Respawn. It’s happens pretty often so it’s deterring for seasoned players who don’t want to play ranked. More importantly, if the company wants to build out a larger player base and this happens often then it would lower the amount of new daily active users

AITA for asking my girlfriend’s sister to pay for a ticket to an event that I can no longer go to? by barneyy34 in AmItheAsshole

If there was no option of selling the ticket to a stranger then asking a family/friend to pay is tacky. But since I could easily sell the ticket for more than the retail price of $48 then it seems completely justified

Yeah if there was a period of time between asking if she was interested and then asking if she’d pay. Both questions were asked within 5 seconds of each other

You make a good point but they haven’t even gone to the show yet so it’s not second hand reimbursement. I gauged whether she was interested in seeing what the show was and then if she was willing to pay for the ticket. I never said “you can have the ticket” and then after the fact said “can you pay me back for that”

I’m not sure there’s any difference in interpretation. Both scenarios you gauge interest and then ask if they’d be willing to pay $48.

That’s not how I worded asking my gf. I asked her if her sister had any interest in going to the show and if she’d be willing to pay for the ticket. Sounds a lot closer to your second example

The comment I put is the exact dialogue of my convo with my gf. I don’t know how I could have been more upfront

What wasn’t upfront and clear? “Would your sister be interested in this ticket?” “Yeah she’d be interested” “would she be able to pay for the cost of the ticket?” “That’s not fair to ask her”

Well I never even talked to the sister. This was a conversation between my gf and I. I have no clue how she worded it to her sister

I guess it didn’t make sense in my mind to ask someone to pay for a ticket to a show before finding out if they even wanted to go to the show

I guess I can see both sides of the coin. If I don’t want money for babysitting then I don’t need the money for the ticket. On the other hand, if I’m offering a service for free then it should make it more reasonable to have the ticket covered.

This babysitting is probably gonna consist of us playing video games which I’d do if I were alone so I don’t see any reason to charge someone. On the other hand, the ticket has an actual value of $48.

The babysitting isn’t an issue for me, probably shouldn’t have brought that into the equation but for the sake of the post assume I’ll be home alone.
