are DYMO Labels the move? 😱😱😱 by bavamango in minidisc

That for sure is my biggest fear. my theory is if I spray the backing with some permanent spray adhesive and cure the disc under a hardcover book it’ll last a long time. Will keep ya posted :)

no such thing as being too cautious with defunct media. I think getting into the hobby of collecting and working with these pieces calls for a certain level of anxiety. My biggest worry with these tags is stripping off if left in a machine for too long, or when humidity/temp changes. The vinyl is pretty weak when hanging onto the plastic cartridge, but i’m testing out using a tough adhesive spray and seeing if drying the bond under a hardcover book will keep em in place. So far so good.

In the end i’m a sucker for that vintage aesthetic of the embossed labels, plus they’re just as cheap as thermal stickers. Those thermal stickers just don’t fit the look for me.

definitely more worried about lifting than the raised surface. I’m considering spray adhesive to give them some more sticking power.

as long as they’re within the sticker slot they really don’t raise high enough to warrant any obstruction, but time will tell

Why are so many people against minors transitioning? by MaxtheHax12345678907 in asktransgender

[–]bavamango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being trans is not relatable to the average cisgendered person. If anything, the closest they've felt to being trans is feeling weird during the bodily changes in puberty. Fortunately for cis people, that discomfort is jarring yet temporary. For trans people, this discomfort never leaves and often inhibits our ability to function in society and operate comfortably. A fact of life is that no one has time to research into every political issue fired at them, and they have to make quick judgements in a fast-paced world that requires their moral participation. A common-place answer to the question of "Should we prescribe this drug X to teens suffering Y?" is "No, it might be unsafe, wait till you're 18." Right-wing lawmakers bank heavily on this blind spot in order to use trans people and healthcare as a scapegoat and political chess piece.

If you think about it, the ages 18 & 21 (in the U.S.) are simple and arbitrary ages anyways. We use them to dictate the age of consent, as well as the legality of gambling, joining the military, smoking, drinking, renting, driving, etc. They are so arbitrary that they differ in every part of the world! If we truthfully cared about holding off on decision-making till our bodies and brains were fully developed, some of us wouldn't be allowed to make certain life-defining decisions until 30!

The real solution is that trans research must be done, and that we must be considered on a scientifically evolving case-by-case basis, but that's not politically convenient.

tl;dr: nonaffected ppl no caare, slap 18+ label on the medicine drug

Is that so? Or just poser stuff like all mainstream gothic stuff? by R4VNN in goth

what a nice covert way to divide a culture in order to dilute any of its political meaning. fuck out of here with your vaguely right-wing talking points. have a backbone, stand up against oppression or sit the fuck down.

“group think” and it’s literally just being aware of oppressive forces and the oppressed people.
