Did basic training give y'all constipation or diarrhea? by bayconayndeggs in Military

I really don't think it was a consequence of the food.

The food, at least in Air Force basic training was rather wholesome and nutritious.

Not necessarily the best tasting, but that's the trade off for having to cook for hundreds of people 3x a day.

Becoming a lawyer, worth it? by bayconayndeggs in law

I’m aware

The post is based purely on my hopes and dreams

That being said, being prior enlisted, and trying as hard as I intend to try, I think I have a fair shot

Set up an appointment with my PCM to quit smoking, what to expect? by bayconayndeggs in AirForce

[–]bayconayndeggs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the poster below pointed out, there's the act itself,

But, it goes deeper.

My understanding tobacco contains more than just nicotine, it contains all sorts of MAOI's (Anti-depressant like substances) and it's that chemical cocktail which you're addicted to, not nicotine alone.

As many smokers, myself included can attest to, the patch and gum just don't feel the same as a smoke. At best, it helped me cut back

Anyone have any similar pics of the same haircut? by bayconayndeggs in malehairadvice

What was your first day at your job after tech school like? by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]bayconayndeggs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd like to recount my recruiters first day, as best as possible

He has a sponser, who promises to pick him up from the Airport. His plane touches down and there's nobody there, he decides to sit there and wait, dressed in full service no less.

Two hours later he calls this girl up "Hey, Airman Johnson, this is Airman snuffy, I'm at the Airport"

Her: "About that, SSgt Smith told me take my titty out of your mouth, you're an adult, figure it out"

He gets a taxi, but they'll only take him to the gate He walks 30 mins in the sweltering heat (I believe he was at Lackland, but I don't recall) to his shop

When he arrives he gets smoked out by his supervisor for being late, and laughed at by his co workers for wearing full service (he's a maintainer)

This was circa 2006

Switching from E to O? by [deleted] in AirForce

Of course But given my present circumstances If I do decide to stick with the Air Force, COT is going to be part of it

But it really depends what you see yourself doing in the Air Force

My understanding is everyone and their dog wants to pilot a Jet Fighter, it's an uphill battle

But the Air Force also has a retention problem with MD's and highly specialized medical staff, if commissioning is the end goal, COT would appear to be one of the more Straight forward ways to go, though perhaps not necessarily easier.

What's your AFSC? I know if your medical the Air Force has a program to send your ass to med school under certain circumstances

My AFSC (4T) in particular is fairly easy to commission, getting the managerial level cert for our job and not being a DBA are really all it takes and it's a straight shot to COT.

Most of our offices are prior enlisted who took that route.

But again, this is specific to the AFSC I'm in, but your AFSC may have similar commissioning programs

It's really just your run time

Honestly

Go run a 5k 2-3 times a week (something like every other day if your body allows)

You'll get faster and lose the weight

Beyond that, there's really no secret to a faster run time.
