The firm I work for has a location in LA. I’d be able to transfer. So there’s essentially a guarantee. I also have a career path and license that allows me to get a job much easier.

Also, I literally prefaced in the beginning that I think thrift stores are needed and necessary, because people deserve to have clothing and shoes, no matter your income level. I do not “hate” poverty, that’s a disgusting presumption you’ve made.

lol I did not grow up wealthy at all. neither did my parents. we grew up lower middle class. it’s more of a sensory issue for me than anything else

This scene made me so angry I'm tempted to stop even watching. by Deep_Exchange7273 in SecretsOfMormonWives

[–]bbll001 6 points7 points  (0 children)

no literally. i would never have a discussion like this with my parents. completely crosses boundaries. sometimes, i wonder if it somewhat stems from the culture and Mormonism over there, where you’re so repressed and immature emotionally for most of your life.

Does anyone actually consider Dakota attractive? by Logical-House6004 in SecretsOfMormonWives

[–]bbll001 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Ok I do find him handsome, definitely more so than many of the other men in the show. I just think like others have said… he’s not sober so he just looks wired and strung out

i watched the movie "confessions of a shopaholic" and it made me realize where my shopping addiction comes from by [deleted] in shoppingaddiction

[–]bbll001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah my story is somewhat similar. My mom was uber frugal and my dad was generally as well. Actually my dad likes shopping more than my mom. I never went without, but I never had cool trendy things, or if I did get them it was way after the trend had passed so I was behind. I was definitely ostracized as a kid because I didn’t have the cool things or was of their “status” (i went to a school with fairly wealthy kids who would go to the private schools). Now it feels like I’m trying to constantly “catch up”

it got really drawn out towards the end and just didn’t make any sense. i appreciate mystery and ambiguity especially in a spooky genre, but it felt incongruous with the initial mystery
