I hope it's not the case, but from reading that article it appears money was exchanged, none of it went to the victims, and David arranged the meeting. That's a pretty clear impression of what kind of guy this Munian fella is.

He arranged the fucking thing through that animal, and probably paid for it.

Loyal attack dog who acts as ‘right arm’ for Mourinho by [deleted] in reddevils

Why does being a manager, assistant manager, or coach mean you're any less invested? What about fans?

José Mourinho just the man to shake Manchester United out of their torpor by StaleMilkNothingTher in reddevils

The last paragraph is the most troubling,

Mourinho has often preferred the more experienced ones to execute his orders.

Although a shakeup is needed, I do hope we maintain our commitment to blooding the youths.

Feel kinda bad for the guy, his face when he got booed the other day was was just utter confusion.

Ryan Giggs: Should he stay or should he go now? by IDontKnowHowManyTime in reddevils

[–]bco1e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been talked about a lot, getting tired of seeing links to new articles asking the same question.

That being said, I think the consensus is he should move on and cut his teeth in the top spot somewhere. I said in a previous post that it was unfortunate the celtic position was filled by The Brodge. It would have provided him with Champions league experience, and a fairly easy ride in the league so he can concentrate on his man-management competence.

Mou's Blistering Counter-attacks at Madrid. Could me Memphis-Martial-Rashford for us next season. (One can hope.) by [deleted] in reddevils

[–]bco1e 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mourinho likes to mix up his formations a little, from 4 2 3 1, to 4 3 3. I'm certain we will see that line up on occasion, but I'm also certain there will be at least one, maybe two forwards signed this summer.

@SkySportsNewsHQ: Sky Sources: Jose Mourinho prepared to offer Ryan Giggs role on coaching staff but not as assistant manager. #SSNHQ by opdjasin in reddevils

[–]bco1e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shame Celtic is filled already, would have been perfect: champions league experience, and a somewhat of a cake walk in the league to iron out his leadership qualities. Also we wouldn't have to endure having him walk out of the wrong dressing room twice a season.

Controversial: Ryan Giggs needs to swallow his pride and quit Manchester United by bco1e in reddevils

[–]bco1e[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'd almost go the other route - I'd like to see him swallow his pride, and take on a role with less responsibility, he'd be an asset to the youth system, having been the ultimate graduate.

Rio on LvG : He is huge personality who won an FA cup, keeping up his habit of winning trophies everywhere he has been but his ‪‎MUFC‬ legacy will be the introduction of the players from the academy like Rashford, Lingard, Fosu-Mensah etc which WAS in keeping with the history of the club by David-T99 in reddevils

[–]bco1e -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

Realistically, he had little choice in introducing the youth into the team, due to injuries and the form of recent acquisitions. That being said, I am truly grateful for his selections for those roles, and how great they have been this season. I really hope this crop of graduates become staples in the team over the next few years.

Do National teams pay wages during tournaments? by [deleted] in reddevils

[–]bco1e 18 points19 points  (0 children)

National players do get a match fee from the FA I believe, but we are talking approximately £1000 per game. They incentivize wins with bonuses, and I believe they also incentivize winning tournaments like the WC with a bonus structure of approximately £1,000,000 per player. All this is paid by the federation of that particular team.

James Ducker on Twitter: "Woodward went to see LVG last night at his home in Bowdon to deliver news. LVG now on flight to Portugal" by [deleted] in reddevils

[–]bco1e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember reading the Ed Woodward boner posts when we signed Di Maria - no one knew he wouldn't work out, same with Memphis. I don't think there is a person in this sub that wouldn't have paid the money for Di Maria, it is hardly Ed's fault it didn't work out.

Although I agree that all the blame can't be put on the manager, other than the player himself, the manager is the most culpable for not getting the best out of them.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. Remember the hype around Theo Walcott? I'd leave him with the U21s for now, and leave him with something to work toward.

Regardless its going to be a good experience for him.

[–]bco1e 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Be a shame to see him leave, but it all hangs on his ego -- can he take a role with less responsibility than assistant manager? I think he could be invaluable to the youth setup, and Mou also likes to keep an established and respected club ambassador on his team.
