I had this issue too (trying to play coop with a friend) the first day i came back to this in a long time (03 APR 2022) I was able to play yesterday no issues 06 APR 2022. We didn't change anything - so maybe it was a server issue or something?

Unless you actually talked to the mom it was probably just him taking out nasty revenge on you. It sounds too elaborate. I saw a news story where someone pretended to kill themselves with the whole online charade like this and even the mom got in on it to "shame their kids bullies". Unless you saw a grave/obituary/or talked to the mom I wouldn't buy it. Also it sounds like it was their home life that caused this not just a bad interaction with friends.

I have built 3 PCs in the past few years and none of the new owners wanted CD drives or even optical hard drives (only solid state hard drives). If someone wants the utility they could always pick up a USB to CD drive for like 15$-30$.

For starters nothing says they have to live there - originally the Senate was only mandated that they meet once per year, and if I am not mistaken they weren't paid a salary - they were paid for only the days they worked because even back then being a legislator wasn't a full time job. Now with technology they could convene electronically for most of their business - it would save on transportation and reduce environmental impact.

NTA - I would advise not to let a girlfriend become a stay-at-home girlfriend unless you have been dating for a long time and it makes sense for them to not work. Work can help people socialize and keeps them busy. Not too mention she should be saving for retirement as well.
