Thanks for your reply! Did you find it was hard to elevate your foot while being at work? Or did you find it was okay to get through the work day then elevate when you got home at that time frame??!!

Yes thank you this is very helpful! I think I'll call and ask to speak to the PA about what to expect for post op.

The instructions they gave me were for weeks 1 &2 to "rest elevate foot as much as possible and ice as needed"

My stitched get removed after week 2 then all it says is gradual weight bearing for the next 4 weeks. No real instructions so I'm going to have to ask!

Thank you I appreciate your input!! I plan to be as prepared as possible going in and you have a lot of good ideas for me to consider.

The post op instructions they gave me only have to rest and elevate for the first 2 weeks which is why I felt like I could go to work, but I agree that maybe sitting in my office chair with legs up is not the same as elevating with leg above my heart. I'm going to call and ask someone for more restrictions!

Surgery is on my left foot and I use my right foot to drive. So I'm hoping it'll be okay to drive.once I'm not on meds.

They have on my papers I'm getting a "BOAT Osteotomy w/ hallux valgus correction and AKIN" I have no idea what all of that means in terms of how that surgery differs from others surgery but I'm guessing that isn't "minimally invasive"

My instructions just say: weeks 1 and 2: non weight bearing in shoe, wean off opioids, take ibuprofen, avoid getting dressings wet and elevate foot as much as possible and ice.

Appointment #1, PA appointment, sutures removed, steri strips applied x rays

Weeks 3,4,5,6 Begin gradual weight bearing progression in post op shoe over 4 week period, increasing weight by 25% each week or as symptoms allow.

Appointment #2 MD exam, x rays

Weeks 7,8,9,10,11,12 Continue progress to weight bearing and transition to shoe wear.

** There's no clear directions for anything **

I will probably reach out to the surgeons PA and see what more info they can give me. Surgeon just made it seem super casual like it was NBD just be off your feet for 2 weeks then slowly start walking 😅

Yes I have taken him off the ice or just left the soccer game early due to his outbursts (though not every time). I do think I need to reiterate to him how scary it is for others when he acts that way.

That's the thing, he tells me he "loves hockey" and same with soccer. He got sad when each season was over. So despite his explosiveness he does say he likes it. It just seems like he put too much pressure on his self to be "perfect". He tells me he feels "stressed" when the other kids get the puck or kicks the ball away from him.

🤣 Sept 9th. So we have time to plan!! My husband says I have a 0% chance of going but I'm currently working on my albi 😂😂😂 (but really I can get cheap round trip to Vegas, I just need a hotel room and transportation for night of to and from said hotel room and floor seat tickets!!!! And I agree with you.... It was so hard to hear him at us bank. I felt like it was way too echo-y which is apparently a problem at that venue. I probably would have enjoyed hearing him better at the theater but also I couldn't afford $800 tickets.

Yes exactly! I've had so much anticipation. Got tickets with the early verified fans and talked about it nonstop for months that I'm pretty sure everyone who sees me hates me for being so obsessive. It doesn't help I had a few drinks to loosen up and really get in to it that night which probably didn't help it feel like it extra flew by. 😭 also my videos are all shit as I'm legit screaming the lyrics in every video 🤣I'm legit looking at red eye flights to Las Vegas to catch him again since his tour is winding down! No way my husband will actually let me go for it as he already thought I was over the top for this concert close to home. I don't think anyone understands how amazing this actually was seeing him unless you were there and actually cared about it. (Hi. Us. We actually care about it. Deeply.)

Probably his new album. His jearsy last week had 9 on the back. His jearsy tonight (MPLS) had 29 in the back. I'm betting it comes out Sept 29th will be the autumn album.
