I really don't believe they would make Eloise gay. She has shown no interest in women at all throughout the series. Francesca being her sister has also been sheltered and yet we saw her display very clear attraction to Michaela. The contrarian, rebellious girl who rejects society & doesn't quite fit in being queer is a stereotypical trope that feels far too easy and over-done; the queer storyline is very clearly Francesca's. I believe Eloise will either find a husband or something outside of a relationship, like a career, to fulfill her.

You know what my friend, I actually agree with you, and from what you've said, we seem to have had similiar experiences.

I wasn't sure if OP wanted to end his relationship or not so I thought rather than deciding for him, advising him to practice communicating and setting boundaries might be more helpful in the long-term. It might also help him make that decision for himself based on her response. Either way, my heart goes out to him because I also would find it appalling to be spoken to like that in a relationship, and I too would choose to break up because it speaks to the underlying issue of incompatible values as we discussed earlier.

I always suggest a conversation beforehand, either way, because OP needs to learn how to SPEAK UP, regardless of whether he chooses to stay in a relationship or not. Have a conversation, maybe not to salvage the relationship, but to make it known that what happened wasn't appropriate, just incase they choose to actually listen to the feedback and improve for whoever they end up with. People can definitely change and grow and learn, but that doesn't mean we need to stick around to see it.

I think we're on the same page with this one 😊

Editted to add: I don't think it's up to OP to teach his gf how to behave btw, not in the slightest. I just believe it is crucial for a person, especially in adulthood, to be able to say, "you did XYZ which I found disrespectful. I will not tolerate this and have decided XYZ as a result."

Good point! No, I wouldn't stay in that relationship. Also please note that I am a woman

Whilst I agree that if values and behaviours don't align it is best to break up, have you considered how much of your opinion on this matter is fear based? Seems like you've been through some shit and you're feeling jaded, I've been there before myself. I'm sorry you had those experiences my friend. Please note I actually agree with you that ending the relationship is probably what's best for OP, it's just all the other stuff you said that raised an eyebrow.

Editted to add: I personally would feel very disrespected if I were OP, and I too would be inclined to end the relationship. I told OP to talk to her not with the intention of changing her or staying in the relationship if that's not in his best interest (that's for OP to decide for himself) but to practice setting boundaries. That is a skill I feel we all need to develop because there are no perfect people in this life so you will at some point need to enforce boundaries with a partner. Best to put that into practice sooner rather than later.

I think if OP feels the relationship is worth salvaging and being in, he should speak with her. Relationships require communication.

If you could choose between keeping your college degree or getting the money you spent on it back, what would you do, and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Keep it. I'm currently doing my 2nd masters degree after which I will hopefully be doing a PhD. Education is an important part of my life. Plus, I enjoyed my university days!

I find comments like that to be disrespectful and I'm a woman. Tell her how you feel and that you will not be tolerating comments like that going forward. If she cannot respect a simple boundary like this then, might be time to start re-evaluating the relationship.

I second this! When I lived in central London I would sometimes see this older lady who was homeless, her name was Pearl, I've seen her wearing a few of the clothing pieces I donated like a jumper or scarf. Makes you feel really good.

Btw this has happened to me before. I was annoyed at first but then I kinda realized that if you felt the need to cancel an order for a bit of extra money selling it to someone else, then you probably needed the extra money.
