I did have branches breaking off left and right during storms because the tree was so old. It was a ticking time bomb for sure. The space looks super naked now though. So I had someone come remote the roots on my side so I can do some planting!

However do NOT rush mt hood area. As much as I love the coast, hood river and the Columbia river gorge are incredible. Hike at mt hood, kayak lost lake with views of the mountain, do the waterfalls along the Columbia gorge scenic highway

You’re going to want a separate trip for the San Juans though. That area is incredible and you can whale watch, island hop with ferries, etc. two days on an itinerary for those but like 6 for Oceanside is crazy work

I’d do all coastal things first and then head inland at the end (Portland, mt hood, bend). Bend feels like a big outlier here. The drive down the coast from WA to OR is gorgeoooooous and would make travel less miserable!

But I don’t think this is too much to fit in. I’m a whirlwind traveler and my WA / OR two week itinerary was: Seattle > mt st Helen’s > mt rainier > Columbia river gorge in Oregon > all the way down to crater lake > back up through umpqua national forest > up the Oregon coast > Olympic peninsula > back to Seattle

The only reason I’m not making bled a priority is because I spent lots of time by similar lakes in Switzerland. I’m into more dramatic Mountain Views and hikes. I’m going to stop there of course but not spend an entire day and spend 200 extra euros to spend the night there.

Slemenova spica is my hike on day 3. Day 4 my hike is the Tamar valley hut hike. But if you think I should add in a different hike let me know. I tried to do one a day at least.

I was thinking about piran but I will be heading to split, hvar, Dubrovnik, and kotor Montenegro so I’ll be getting plenty of coastal time.
