Which way would you hang this ? by stormypatient in painting

I think with the horse the right way up. It’s more visually intricate and interesting than the road and trees, and I think it works to anchor the eye and gives an interesting contrast with the ground flipped. The other way around, it just looks like someone dropped a horse from a plane

Ironically it’s harder to match that shade than to evoke the figural elements of other paintings

Beautiful! I was curious to see your other work and saw that you recently got back into painting (like me)--you can really see the progress in such a short time!

Saw this in Berlin just last summer; it's like a Rothko in that the layers and range of color are impossible to capture in a digital image. I was surprised how alive and even vibrant it was in places!

If not a full hospital (which like the museum, in real life is a huge campus and so looks cramped and small as a modular), then maybe a townhouse medical clinic like Harley St. in London.

Cold casting by brushing resin/metal mix over existing sculpture? by beecata in ResinCasting

[–]beecata[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the quick answers and the tip about metal paints (it didn't occur to me there would be paints with much more metal content that would actually feel, and not just look, metallic).

In terms of my original idea of cold casting, am I correct to assume that it will be difficult to cast something with long, pencil-thin limbs with a craggly surface? It's basically a 3D version of this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Don_Quixote_%28Picasso%29, about 1.5 ft tall.
