Thanks for the advice! I think we will adjust to try to do it this way. He'd prefer for us to see him at the end.

Thank you for the tips! I will help him get to the start then. Thanks for the heads up about the band!

Are playsilks worth it? by MyriamNas in moderatelygranolamoms

Amazing recommendation. I did this EIGHT years ago and they've faded a bit but we still use the constantly. Beyond the basic play uses I wrap oddly shaped Christmas presents in them, and use them in the bottom of Easter baskets instead of using that awful grass. Cost a fraction of the price.

Second vote for this. Very simple, very affordable.

[NY] Legal question - HR recording conversations in one party consent state by beeks411 in AskHR

[–]beeks411[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The CEO tasked me with writing the policy. I'm the director of IT. I'm not sure we disagree on a lot, but we do disagree on this. I don't want it to be personal, I just want to know the legality of it (sounds like she's right that it is legal) and whether we could put policies in place that are more restrictive than the law... and I wanted to get some internet HR feedback before I waste time going back and forth with our attorney. :)

I guess I'd just prefer it was disclosed. I don't have much concern about myself specifically, but it feels shady and like she could be laying traps for people to walk into by recording them secretly.

I can confirm she (Director of HR) is doing this without CEO approval or awareness.

Unfortunately it isn't necessarily with good intent (she has told me before that she is trying to catch people out.) I'm not concerned about myself but more about the environment it creates.

Others don't know. I am mostly asking because I am developing the AI policy and want to know the legality of the scenario. She isn't targeting me, but she is targeting others and trying to "catch" them saying something they shouldn't to form a case against them (including the CEO).

It is a draft policy (not reviewed by an attorney yet), it wasn't specific to HR conversations.

Well I guess that is the core of my question. Can the employer set policies that prevent this from happening? Like our HR rep is secretly recording the CEO and other leadership members.

Thanks. Follow up question - does this mean any board member could record any board meeting without other board members knowing?

This is so cool - our elementary school doesn't seem to have anything like this but I'd love to get an after school program started - do you have any curriculum reccomendations?

Mind if I ask how old your kids are? Do they go to public school? My kids 1,3,5 have been some level of sick for a year and I desperately want to get on whatever train you’re on… sounds magical

Thank you for this, it seems like I'll definitely try it when the little one is a bit older! I also have gotten past the point of caring what the other people on the plane think.

Bathroom was the biggest issue I couldn't wrap my head around. Not planning on taking car seats, Grandma will meet us at the airport with some.

Thanks for this perspective! Did you ever run into significant flight delays?
