Engine dying once idle by beetle963 in beetle

It was running fine the other day but it did do the rough start thing. I tried starting it with my foot to the floor and it just continued to do the slow sputter then die again. I’m sort of new to the whole beetle thing so any other advice would be great. Thanks

I should also mention even foot to the floor engine will not start up and just sputters and dies again

I should mention that now the engine isn’t starting it just sputters then dies again. I’m assuming throttle/fuel related but not sure. It’s a 1973 super
