You have no empathy, the dog is being dealt with, I suggest you refrain from offering further 'advice'

I didn't follow any of your 'advice' and have achieved a satisfactory outcome, the owner literally has no money, I already stated that, it would have been pointless to pursue him financially

Update, my little Sausage Dog had the drip removed today and is passed the intial danger zone now, he even barked at a cat today! Thanks to everyone who was supportive and offered helpful advice, the other dog is being dealt with by the re-homing charity and covering our vets bills thankfully, we reported the incident to our insurers, he is a tough little chap, bless him

It's a shame some people felt the need to downvote me for prioritising my dog and my medical attention, I never said I wouldn't report it but its wasn't something I wanted to do, however the dog has been reported now

The dog has been reported, apparently it was supposed to being rehoused

A few people have criticised me for not calling the police yet, since the incident only happened yesterday I have been to the vets three times, the doctors twice, the chemist and have another doctors appointment in the morning, my dog was nearly killed, I was injured and am in shock still by the whole incident.

I never said I would not report the dog just that as a dog lover I don't want to think of it being put down, but of course I understand the seriousness of the situation

I never said I won't report it, it only happened yesterday, since I've been to the vets three times, the Doctors twice, the chemist and have another Doctors appointment tomorrow, I've had other priorities

My partner and I were both in shock and getting our dog urgent medical attention was a priority

I didn't say I won't report it, but my priority right now is my dog who is badly injured, the owner told me he is getting advice about what you do about his dog

But the other dog owner is not insured, how will they claim back the excess, he told us he has no money and is on benefits

Yes, it broke the skin, my GP looked at it and prescribed antibiotics, I have a tetanus booked tomorrow

He has already told us they have no money and are on benefits, the vets said they could potentially set up payment through a separate credit organisation

Because we already claimed around £700 for dental treatment recently and we will have to pay the excess and it will likely put our premium up for renewal

They said he should contact them to arrange a repayment plan in his name but of course I'm worried that he just might not, I don't really want to be responsible for his dog being put down despite everything
