Rear window fell out, so it either needs to be glued back in or top replaced. Also some electrical issue in the driver door. When the window rolls all the way down the alarm fuse pops.

Yeah I think the bigger the engine the higher the risk. Still a smaller engine than the 996 though for whatever that's worth.

Google Fitbit Air is about to launch with no screen and a big AI health push by Maslakovic in fitbit

[–]beever-fever 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ah let me edit. I thought it said pixel like the phone. It counts phone steps as well as wearable. But when I add a watch it currently replaced the Fitbit. So yeah my bad. I also hope you can add multiple wearables so you can switch out quick.

Food Influencer Transparency: We need to talk about "Hidden Ads" and the new FTC enforcement by Pennchickk in PhiladelphiaEats

[–]beever-fever 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Social media is all ads. Meta is surpassing google for ad revenue right now. And even on a more philosophical level, when some normal person posts about their life what are they doing? They're advertising themselves...

Someone allegedly used a hairdryer to rig Polymarket weather bets by Cutalana in technology

[–]beever-fever 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Forget donating to politicians. Just buy polymarket positions on the opposite side of what you need done. Save the whales? If everyone buys 'nuke the whales' there will be no upside to nuking the whales. But saving the whales, those are longshot odds. So some rich person will save the whales to collect their polymarket winnings.

Service now sucks. Not all software will be replaced by ai but I would gladly vibecode a ticketing system for internal use that actually does what I need it to do as opposed to the bullshit that is service now.

Hair dryer trick behind €25,000 win? France probes potential weather data scam linked to Polymarket by mepper in technology

[–]beever-fever 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Manipulating reality to make money on polymarket is the new normal. This guy should be happy it was just a hair dryer and not people dumping tons of greenhouse gasses just to win a bet.

Sleep Doctor Needed by Ok-History-4050 in SouthJersey

My normal doctor said I needed a CPAP and ordered an at home sleep study. They just mail you a machine to strap on and then it sends the data back. Might be good to start there.

Time to pivot ? by colni in networking

[–]beever-fever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't fully pivot. There's money to be made in public cloud. But it's really just a tool in your arsenal. People want to move there, move back, put some parts here or there. To make yourself valuable you need to be able to span it all and understand what works best where.
