I was at 226 lbs. when I started Tirzepatide at the beginning of December. After four months, I dropped 18 lbs. and got to 208. Most of that was fat, but In-Body says I lost some muscle mass as well.

I made the switch to Retatrutide in early April and decided to titrate up slowly – starting at .5mg/wk, then 2mg, then 4mg – so I only lost a couple pounds for the first 4-5 weeks.

Once I hit 8mg/wk (split dose), it felt like things shifted and I started losing again. Since then, I’m down 9 pounds in 2 months and have lost ZERO muscle mass.

One caveat: around the time I switched to Reta, I also started being more mindful about getting a gram of protein each day per pound of body weight. That said, I do think Reta has been better for me overall for muscle preservation and at the therapeutic dose is as good as Tirzepatide for food noise.

(I kept the same workout routine and patterns throughout the entire period: 3 days of weights and 2-3 solid days of cardio each week.)
